Longman English Grammar

I have just started to use this grammar, however so far, it seems to be giving me the answers I need for grammar questions. I use it along with other English usage books such as Swan's Practical English Usage. It seems to cover a fairly wide area of grammar points. The examples given for explanations are somewhat limited, as one buyer pointed out, but I don't think that detracts from this book being a good grammar. I do have to use other sources at times to clarify or round out the information presented in the text. I think it will prove to be a good resource for points of English grammar. It might be difficult for someone just beginning to learn English.

Book arrived in very good condition. This edition is one of the best to learn english grammar. Very detailed and well structured in order to learn language in a most effective way. Highly recommend it.

I like the layout of this classic book. It would be a bit more user-friendly if it had more spaces in the numbering.

Good grammar references are hard to find, especially ones like this that are all-inclusive. I recommend this for ESL learners because it includes all the grammar they need to know along with many example sentences.

I'm not happy with it as I thought it was nicer. This one has a lot of highlights and notes.

Studying English Grammar

This is one of the best English grammar money can buy. Though perhaps not as comprehensive as the "Cambridge Grammar of English", it is still dense, tight, well organized and very easy to use. I heartily recommend it. If you can find a copy, you should accompany it with "Longman English Grammar practice", another book I can't recommend enough.

One of the greatest books on grammar I have ever read. This book gives you clear insight into the grammar that most of us find difficult. I needed this book badly. I am very thankful to amazon.in that they made this book available at the minimum price. I think everyone who aspires to communicate effectively should possess this book. Thank you amazon.in.
