The label says nothing about gluten. But, there is no wheat or flour of any kind. Try making a mayonnaise, mustard, curry powder dip and use it on crudites. The effect is sensational.

Q: Why does it say it must be cooked before consumption?

I think it means I can’t be eaten right out the container as is. It’s usually used to season meat that is then cooked and eaten. Often times in my culture we also cook it in a bit in oil and garlic to bring out the full bodied flavor and depth of the curry and when it becomes fragrant and a little brown we add the chicken and sauté.
