For me, there are few thing in life as enjoyable as a great cup of coffee.. I love the taste of coffee with nothing added.. that has a strong, rich flavor...not acidic, not bitter, with no astringent aftertaste.. I favor the very dark jet black beans with a little of the oily sheen.. This is really, really good.. I shared some with 2 of my work colleagues who have similar tastes and they also really liked it. This is the best mail order coffee I have found so far...

I had been buying seasonal coffee beans at Costco for years, as they offered a product that was superior and at a great price. Costco discontinued the product this past year. We drink rich, bold coffee in our house. Typical retail for decent coffee is at least $8.00 for 12 oz., which is too expensive for my budget. I decided to try Brooklyn Coffee's Italian Roast and wasn't pleasantly surprised. You get a rich, bold coffee at only about $6.00 per pound. And that it comes in five pound bags means about a month's worth of coffee before re-ordering. If you like strong coffee as we do, give Brooklyn Coffee a try. It suits our taste and the price is great.

I was looking for a replacement for Starbucks House Blend because it seems to have gotten weaker over the last year or so. I like this coffee, it's darker and has more flavor than the latest iteration of Starbucks House Blend, really more like House Blend used to be. The price is excellent, I will continue buying it.

These beans are amazing! I use an old Saeco Aroma espresso machine, it works great! These dark rich beans provide a magnificent robust very smooth flavor, the coffee is very low if none acidity (I hate acid bitter coffee) I was using Don Pablo Cuban dark roast (also an excellent bean) ….. however I will most definitely substitute with Brooklyn …. I had never heard of or seen them before and gave it a shot…… honestly very impressive and well priced! I am an espresso coffee addict … yes with some milk and sugar or as cortado ! I highly recommend if you love a dark flavored bean but with a smooth taste , this is it. The creamy brew is obviously whatever machine u have, and mine produces an excellent creamy rich dark brown color with these beans!

No matter what level of roast - always top quality and bold flavor. I usually buy the medium roast, this time I went with bold - it’s a great way to start my day each morning!

I brewed this coffee for about a month using a variety of brewing methods. I have a Breville Barista Express, aeropress, French press, cold brew, and Chemex pour over. In my experience this did fairly well with all of them but was best in the French press and cold brew. I did manage to pull a few really nice shots of espresso with it but after a couple weeks I was no longer able to do this. I think the freshness had degraded to the point where it just wasn’t working. There was no “roasted on” date on the package just a “Best By” date so I do not know how fresh it was. Overall I was a little disappointed in the flavor. I’m not a coffee expert but I’m a fairly discerning taster and this tasted like robusta to me. It almost had a Starbucks-like quality to it – a bit of a smoky aftertaste/finish. In a blind taste test I would’ve guessed it was Starbucks. The beans were a little bit oily. I enjoyed this well enough but I don’t think I will order it again. I just wasn’t impressed.
