EcoColors Haircolor Black 2N(2 oz color 2 oz developer)

I love this hair dye although it is quite expensive. This dye wont color black, it will leave you with a dark brown tone that i was looking for. I ordered before dark brown and my hair turned somewhat light, so i decided to try black, and it is exactly what I wanted. After using this dye, your hair will look healthy, shiny and manageable, and excellent healthy alternative way of coloring your hair.

If there was a zero star review this "scam" hair color company would get it. What a great scam they have going at $25 a bottle, giving the impression that it's a superior product compared to the other similar toxin free hair dyes out there at the average price of $7 & $10 a bottle. I have a lot of grays and I usually leave my hair dyes on an additional 30 -40 mins just to be sure the dye has penetrated these stubborn gray hair shafts. This was the first time I used this product and I definitely had high expectations after spending 3 times what I normally spend on these lesser toxic hair dyes. I left this dye on for close to 2 hrs just to be certain I got the exact results I wanted. I also did the heat with the hair dryer for the last 10 minutes as recommended in the instructions. I was so shocked and dismayed with the results after I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror with prior anticipation and excitement. It was as if I NEVER did a hair dye application. The grays had a slightly reddish highlight to them, and shone like a beacon out of all parts of my scalp. There was absolutely NO presence of any black hair dye whatsoever!! Another strange thing about this product was that no matter how long and how much I tried to rinse this heavy, sticky product out of my hair, I could not. My hair strands felt like they could not get separated from each other, my entire head of hair felt like it weighed 10 pounds, and I could actually move my entire head of hair from one side to the other as ONE solid unit !! Unfortunately for me, I did this hair color application just a few hours before a dinner party I was hosting at my home. There was absolutely NO time left for me to try and make some type of correction before my guests arrived. I spent the entire evening self conscious and embarrassed about these extremely obnoxious wiry gray hairs with their now reddish overtones. I would have had to wear a hat to hide my ridiculous scalp but that would have been even more obvious that something was not right. Unfortunately I purchased 2 bottles of this ridiculous, overpriced, scam product when I placed my order. I have since written to EcoColors detailing my horrid experience and my dis-satisfaction with their product.I have also requested a refund on the 2nd bottle. It has been a week, and absolutely NO response from their seemingly non-existent customer service dept. I am so outraged by companies like these who get away with preying on, and misleading consumers with false claims and false advertisements, and who get away with selling their scam products day after day with very little to no consequence whatsoever!! Eco Colors also promote their product as a safer, non-toxic, hair color alternative. Study the ingredients listed on the box and you will see nothing is farther from the truth. This company needs to be put out of business and I'm going to get the ball rolling on doing exactly that. My next letters will be to the FTC & the BBB.

After 2 years of searching for a hypoallergenic coloring solution for grey hair coverage ( I’m about 30%grey against dark brown hair), I really wanted this to work. I went with the 2N Black as it reported to be more of a Dark Brown. The product does state the ingredients are not all botanical. So upon mixing the dye color and activator I could absolutely smell the ammonia. The consistency was a bit watery, so it did tend to drip easily. I left the color on for the recommended 45 mins ( sans the heat for the first 5 min). It rinsed out easily and I proceeded to shampoo/condition. Once dry, the grey took on more of the reddish brown tone, which was Ok as it kind of looked like highlights. However, after waiting more than 48 hrs, when I shampooed/conditioned again, the greys became more reddish blonde- no longer looking OK as highlights. 2 hours after rinsing out the color my scalp did itch, but more as an annoyance than anything. 5 hours later, my scalp did begin to erupt and drain with irritation. This lasted 6 full days. The product does warn about possible irritation and I am only confirming that it will disrupt a sensitive scalp. So for me, this was an unsuccessful attempt which I won’t be repeating

Absolutely geat product. I've used it for years. Nothing better out there and it doesn't damage the hair. There were some quality issues a couple of years ago but they are corrected. Wonderful product. THANK YOU

I developed an allergy to Propylene Glycol a few months ago due to over exposure. It's in everything! Any time I use a product especially hair dyes, my scalp itched and developed scabs and weepy patches. So, I tried this brand. I have long dark thick hair with very resistant grays. I applied the product once according to directions but it didn't cover the grays. The next time, I doubled the time with the heat to 10 minutes and kept the color on for over an hour as opposed to the 45 minutes they recommend. Still, no go. The grays are a yellowish blonde. My search continues.

I needed this hair color to add to the EcoColors Dark Brown which I had purchased before which did not conceal my grays as I had expected. Adding this black gave me much better coverage.

Of all the hair products I have so far used, this is the best. It retains the hair color effectively and fades slowly. It is worth the money compared to a lot of sale being offered in several retail. I guess the lesson to be learned, buyer beware and know what you are buying. Highly recommended.

I ordered two bottles of black. The label on the bottles said black but I know the color inside was dark brown instead of black. I know this because my very first order with ecocolors was dark brown and it didn't work for me because it did not cover the gray and the little coverage it had was reddish brown, not dark brown. I started using black and it was working great for me until my last order that they sold me dark brown and labeled it as black. Dark brown does not work for me at all so I like to continue using the product but how do I know the next time I order black, they will send me actual black instead of dark brown and label it as black. I would like Ecocolors to make it right by me and send me two order of actual black color because the last two bottles left my hair gray and reddish brown just like the dark brown color I used before.
