Great Wireless Keyless Entry (WKE) But Tricky to Program
PLEASE READ MY UPDATE AT THE END OF THIS REVIEW: This wireless keyless entry (WKE) is great for all the reasons described by other reviewers. I installed it in 2014 and, although tricky to program my PIN, it worked flawlessly for four years. For that reason I award it with 5 stars. Perhaps I should award 4 stars because of the programming frustration. I recently (2018) had to change the batteries. However, I again found it tricky to reprogram my PIN (i.e., transfer the PIN from my car remote to the WKE). I tried many times for two days and found that the following procedure worked for me. Although it might not be necessary, I suggest starting by clearing the WKE memory and checking the WKE battery strengths. 1. Clear the WKE memory by removing the old batteries. 2. Test the old batteries. Replace them with new batteries if you think the old batteries are weak. 3. Press and HOLD the ENTER button on the WKE until the following steps are completed. 4. While continuing to hold the ENTER button, install the batteries. 5. Ensure the battery polarities (+ & -) match the designations on the WKE. 6. Release the ENTER button. At this point you may pause before continuing with the programming steps. Be sure to have your transmitter (car remote) on hand. If you think your transmitter battery is weak, install a new battery. Also have your PIN ready to enter in the WKE. If you cleared the WKE memory, you can use a new PIN or reuse your old PIN. Have the following steps well in mind as you must perform them quickly and in the listed order. Some reviewers say 10 seconds. Others say 60 seconds. The written instructions simply say “immediately.” I suggest 10 seconds or as quickly as possible. 1. Press and hold the 3 button for about 3 seconds. (The timing does not seem to be critical.) 2. Immediately TOUCH the TOP END of the transmitter to the 2 & 3 buttons on the WKE. (Note: The instructions say hold the transmitter very close to the 5 & 6 buttons. I had to actually TOUCH the transmitter to the 2 & 3 buttons. 3. Press and HOLD the transmitter button (i.e., the one you use to operate the door). 4. While TOUCHING the transmitter to the WKE and continuing to HOLD the transmitter button, move the transmitter SLOWLY down the WKE until it reaches the 8 & 9 buttons. 5. When the LED lights flash on the WKE, release the transmitter button. 6. Immediately enter your 4-digit PIN in the WKE. (I was able to reuse my old PIN.) 7. Immediately press and release the ENTER button on the WKE TWO TIMES. (Note: The instructions indicate ONE TIME.) 8. This should complete the programming. 9. Test the WKE by entering your PIN and pressing the ENTER button. 10. If the WKE doesn’t operate the door, I suggest trying a variation of the above steps (e.g., by working faster or by touching the transmitter to a different place on the WKE). Clearing the WKE memory might not be necessary between programming attempts. IMPORTANT UPDATE (28 MAY 2018): A few days after writing the above review, my old WKE stopped working. I ordered a new WKE. I WAS ABLE TO PROGRAM THE NEW WKE EASILY AND IMMEDIATELY. I now suspect my old WKE was defective or an earlier version that was difficult to program . I am completely satisfied with my new WKE as I had no problem programming my PIN. Never-the-less, I'm leaving my entire review here as it might be helpful to someone who finds their WKE difficult to program.

Better Than Expected
I like this replacement WKES because the cover actually slides up and down with ease (the old one was very stiff to move), was VERY easy to install, and was pretty easy to program (after a bit of trial and error and closely following the instructions, which were a bit obtuse (NOTE: you must act quickly once in program mode or run the risk of having to perform the same functions -- a lot). I also like that I could program BOTH garage doors (different code required for each), which we never knew we could do (the original was already programmed to open just a single garage door when we bought the house and we assumed that was how it worked -- and we were not provided with the instruction manual). I got this to replace the almost 7-year-old version of the exact model which had recently died (seldom used, but when I tried this week, it would not light up nor open/close garage door even with new batteries). We live in the desert and with temps reaching 115F in the summer, the builder had installed it directly in the sun, which may have been part of the problem -- and that the batteries had corroded and leaked. Marantec makes a quality garage door opener and this OEM WKES was perfect as a replacement.

Smart Opener
Arrived quickly, well packaged, clear instructions, easy to install and program. And the best part is I could program both my garage doors.

Works great for a Martin garage door
There's already a ton of good reviews. I'm only adding my personal experience and some needed info on the install because I couldn't find the info myself. In short, works fantastic! I have a Martin garage door. At least, that's what the name on the remote says. Actual opener is blank. But it worked all the same. First and second time I tried programming, the lights didn't flash but I had the feeling it was my fault. Tried again and worked the third time. To be fair, the remote is a little finicky to press. But after it was programmed, it worked with no problems. I'm not really a handyman type guy. But I've been trying lately to do more. So know that I'm not coming into this like a pro. But even for me, the install to the house right outside the garage door went well and pretty smooth. My only question was: What size drill bit is needed to make the holes for the anchors they include? They provided the size bit for the screws themselves, but not for the anchors. I'm attaching the opener to stucco so the anchors are essential. Well, I found out. The drill bit size needed is 13/64. A tip for installing onto stucco, at least the kind my house has which is fairly uneven: Use a center punch or something to make a divot first. Then drill with a smaller bit first. I started with a 1/8th bit. Then worked up to a 5/32. That was enough to use the 13/64 and hammer in the anchors. If you go straight to the 13/64, even with a divot, the drill bit will wobble and the hole will be off. After the last bit, the anchors hammered in well and everything installed as the manual said. The opener is now solidly attached to the garage wall. And for a really great price too. Can't ask for anything more. I'll update if reliability or quality becomes a problem.

Good keypad but a couple of quibbles.
Install was ok, the supplied sheet metal screws are chit, they easily stripped (philips head) and I was very careful with a cordless driver & right size head. I replaced with torx head. Programming took a few tries because everything times out unless you do it FAST. Good features include being able to have several pins and even a temporary one that counts down to zero each use & then expires.

Programming a little nuanced
Overall it works fine. I was on the verge of returning it because I couldn’t get it to pair with my remotes. This is brand-specific, not a generic one, So I tried several ways. I go back to “factory reset” after a few tries…. Sometimes just better to wipe clean and start again. Ended up doing that twice before I figured it out ( I think ). I have programmed all sorts of these devices for smart home / security applications and all are a little different. In this instance, I think I was just slow in putting in the codes after the leds were blinking. What surprised me is they literally went on as I was just holding the remote nest to the 4/5 and hadn’t moved down to the 8/9 per directions. I was thinking the lights would either blink differently or go off once it paired and I was ready to input the codes. I probably waited a few seconds too long. What worked was plugging in the four digits immediately and #. Not being sure I knew exactly what I did, it worked when I paired the second door.

MARANTEC Garage Door Opener M13-631 Wireless Keyless Entry 315MHz -- This is excellent!
We have a Martin DC2500e/DC3700e garage door opener, and needed to replace the old wireless keypad which no longer works (mostly because it got knocked off its holder twice--but that's another story). I found this wireless keypad on Amazon and one of the answered questions was about the same garage door that I have, and that it would work with it. I checked the back of my remote and it says 315MHz on the back, and looks just like a remote pictured on the page. So I took a chance! I was trying to avoid the quoted $91 cost for 30 minutes from a local company to come out and replace it. That is, $91 for labor, and $64 to $89 for a replacement part! I paid $34.58 here on Amazon which is GREAT to save so much money as a DIYer! It arrived today and I immediately started working on it. I have to say I'm somewhat handy in doing handywoman things around the house, but only the basics. I had read the reviews, and took advice from at least two of them. One was to change the battery on my remote, which I probably didn’t need to do, but figured it wouldn’t hurt. The other was to do the programing quickly. It took three times of trying--you can't pause to read each step. By the third try I was able to do it quickly without reading the steps, and that did the trick! It's really easy once you get the hang of it. I showed my accomplishment to my husband when he got home tonight, and he was impressed! It works perfectly! I'm really happy with this whole thing, and this is a much better design over what we had originally.

Worked perfectly!
While the product is a little pricey, it worked perfectly. Super easy to configure, installed easily, and looks great! A lot better than the original it replaced. The buttons are much nicer, and the sliding cover stays in place, even in high winds. The old one had a flip up cover which would constantly be flapping up and down when it was windy. Very pleased with it.

Works like a charm!
I followed the simple instructions in the box and it worked like a charm on the 1st try... and it looks much better than the old keypad I had that had stopped working. It took less than 20 minutes to remove the previous keypad, unbox this one, program it and put it back up on the side of the garage door.

Ease of installation.
After making sure it was the right one for the job, installation was 20 - 25 minutes. That was also hooking two remotes up and making sure they were working properly.
