This book is definitely a must-have for any jeweler. Simple, concise, and easy to read, it analyses the most commonly purchased and utilized products in the studio (the most popular brands of flux, pickle, solvents, etc), providing crucial info about proper storage, handling, and possible dangers.Of course, the author instructs us on the proper disposal of all the aforementioned chemicals, which I believe is key. No one has ever given me such tips about my own safety. I had to search several websites, and yet I have not found such an extensive set of advice, about literally everything related to the studio.And seriously, fellow friends, don't spill your acids in the sink, even safety pickle! It's so easy to dispose of it properly, with simple ingredients you already have at home!!!!!!!!. It also exhibits basic safety equipment. for various tasks. Finally, there is a rich appendix with links and other useful resources for mining, the environmental impact etc. Great value for money.

This book is something that every jeweler should have. It's a reference book for chemicals, a how to book for basic shop setup, and it tells you how to deal with everything you'll need in your shop. It's not just a book you'll read once and then put on a shelf, this book you'll want to keep handy in your shop at all times. This is jewelery 101, the things you should know before you get started and refer to as you progress. I highly recommend this book to any and all Jewelers and even crafters who want to work with chemicals and such. It also talks about gemstones and suppliers. If you're a jeweler or want to become one, get this book and keep it out in your shop.

I first read this book through KindLe Unlimited for free but now realize I need my own copy. This book is packed with all kinds of helpful information that I want to have on hand in my studio.

More than I was expecting. Actually compares each brand of flux, etc. with safety ratings by use. Something everyone working in a jewelry studio should read.

Finally what we've been waiting for, THE resource for eco-studio practices and environmentally-friendly purchasing decisions. This book is well laid-out, concise, and easy to follow. She includes a handy rating systems for products, a glossary of eco-terminology , a full resource guide ranging from fairmined gold to recycled packaging, and even includes stretches for bench jewelers (and so much more). I can tell this book is well researched and I appreciate making the info easy to digest while remaining in-depth. Both established jewelers and those who are just getting started would benefit from this book, it's an amazing resource for everyone in the industry.

A superb book for anyone looking to improve their jewellery practices. Jam packed with useful information and advice from a very experienced jeweller.
