Hello Jessie, we are using this product and it’s working very good. When attaching the otoscope head the side notches at the bottom of the head must be in line with the raised projections on the top of the battery holder. PRESS the head downwards so that the meta ring on the top of the holder slides down, THEN TURN the head clockwise until parts lock audibly into position. (This info it’s from the user manual) Best Regards
