Great cheap aftermarket part
Works great and does the job. My experience with install this is very simple. You just need to use a heat gun for about 3 minutes on the ball joint, as i believe Toyota use red loctite to secure it and the nut comes off the car. and the rest is easy. make sure you havesomething to hold the boot up so it wont fall on you.The struts works great in warm weather not sure about the performance when its cold snap.My experience with this aftermarket strut is that its not near the OEM quality as you know its alot thinner but strong enought to lift the boot by itself at a pointWould I recommend this as a replacement? RUBBISH
These gas struts are completely useless . They are worse than the ones I replaced ! Should have sent them straight back when I saw the diameter of the pistons (half the diameter of the original struts ) . Will not support the weight of the tailgate and that's before I put the parcel shelf in . DO NOT BUY .
