Beautiful item that is still good years later.

the stain on mine isnt quite as red as it is pictured, but it clearly states the appearance may vary due to it being a natural product. its nice and glossy and feels good in my hand. just a heads up, as your soap needs to air dry after usage the lid is not a tight fit but is more of a "keep stuff from falling into this" sort of measure, as well as a decorative one.you may also want to keep in mind that its a soap dish and not a true lathering bowl. if youre looking for an all in one this might run a little small for your tastes.

I have absolutely no complaints about this bow. I've been using it for over 1 year and it still looks great with minimal effort to keep it nice. I usually wipe the outside down after I've finished shaving, that's about it. Still has a lovely finish on the outside and it has held up well to the soap I've put in it, easy to clean. It's exactly what I wanted. The size is good even for a slightly larger bar of shaving soap it works well.

Great looking case for your shaving soap. But be warned: First, it's meant to be on a shelf-- it's too wide to fit inside my medicine chest. And the soap bar I use is too thick to be contained in this bowl with the lid on-- you would have to cut it in half, lengthwise, to fit it properly.

Wood finish overall what I expected-for the most part, what you see is what you get. The one I received has a dime sized blemish on the lid. For what I paid, I can't complain, had I paid much more, I would have been upset about it. The blemish started with the material (a very noticeable defect in the wood...poor material selection) and cascaded into the finish, causing uneveness/roughness both visually and to the touch. The stain work was average at best-swirl marks and/or brush strokes are visible. Again, not surprised for the price. If you are looking for something impecably done, look elsewhere. The final coat is fairly well applied and the wood remains completely water free.For someone who is just starting out in the world of safety or DE razors, and you are trying to stay on a budget, this is a good buy.

I've been using this bowl for daily shaving for about six months now, and it still looks brand new. Great quality at a great price!

I ordered two; one was beautiful, one had the lid sealed to the bowl probably from being put on before the finish was dry. So, I began the long ordeal with Amazon to return and order another one. The quality of the third one was unacceptable as the finish was very poor, so, I repeated the return/reorder process. Received the fourth one, and the quality just got worse. I finally stopped trying and so I remain stuck with a gift that I am too embarrassed to give. So unless you have alot of time and don't mind all the challenges with the quality, you may have a 25% chance in getting a good one.
