I've owned my repair shop for 12 years, so I've been through a lot of scan tools. Finally had to retire my trusty old MS908P. It was a great scanner for a long time, but that Android 4 OS was getting way too slow and couldn't run some of the newer third-party apps we need in the shop now. I've had good luck with Autel gear over the years, but before spending this kind of cash, I actually got on the snap on truck to look at their new boxes. After comparing notes, this MK908 Pro I just made the most sense for my setup. The biggest surprise was the VCI. The manual barely mentions the J2534 capability, but I messaged tech support to see if it would work as a pass-thru for BMW ISTA. They shot me the driver, I got it set up, and it actually works flawlessly for BMW diag and pulling vehicle info. I really wasn't expecting it to go that smoothly right out of the box. I'm at the point in my career where my younger techs handle the heavy wrenching, while I focus on high-level diag and keeping the shop running. I have been using Autel tools for years starting with MK808. I recently upgrated to MK908 Pro II because I need more features than what old scanner could do. I uploaded a data log and a short video and they got back to me quickly and ended up being a simple workflow issue on my side. Great scan tool, knowledgeable support team and definitely worth for upgrade.

I originally had an issue with the OBD connector not working, so I ordered a replacement. After replacing it, the entire scanner completely stopped turning on. Now the whole unit is dead. This has been very frustrating, especially since the tool has not been used heavily. A diagnostic scanner should be reliable, and I did not expect multiple failures like this.
