A Important book for teachers, parents libraries.
Jean Piaget was a genius. If you're a new parent you can follow your children's maturity and grasp of concepts almost exactly in step with this book.I bought my first copy in 1976. This was for a friend who needed something to help raise his child.Best primer for parenting and teaching.

More than just child development
Piaget isn't interested in children per se, but rather intelligence. Observing intelligence at different stages of development provides insight into what intelligence actually entails and how it functions. As someone who studies cognitive psychology, Piaget provides one of the most concrete and comprehensive descriptions of intelligence that I've found in the literature.I highly recommend this book as an introduction, although I'll say it is just an introduction, and many of the ideas he discusses here cannot be fully understood without further reading.

The birth of a field by the father of psycholinguistics
This is one of around twenty books by Piaget about various aspects of child develop. It is the preeminent example of good science and the founding evidence for our understanding of how children learn language and learn about their physical, social and cultural world. It is a must read still today for anyone working in the area of child language, child learning, children's intelligence or children's deficits.

Somewhat Confusing
Piaget ( and the individual who translated) needs to boil this theory down to something more readable and understandable. Piaget himself is amazing! He just needs to share that with the world.
