This was perfect for our family vacation! We have a Kia Telluride and 5 passengers leaving little room for extras. Our car was spacious because the roof top fits so much. We had golf clubs, luggage, 10x10 canopy tent. We read the reviews to help with putting it up. We went from IL to FL and experiences down pours along the way. Everything stayed dry. On the way back we didn't have it packed as much wind was able to get under it a bit and make some noise - that was more of a packing issue. ARRIVED QUICKLY, NO LEAKS, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I don't write many reviews but love this carrier. Have had many over 40 years and this thing was solid. Holds a ton, stays secure, quiet and never moved! Hands down the best we have had and a decent price.

OVERALL: We got two of these. One for the Honda CR-V, and one for the Toyota Corolla.... we used the included loops inserted into the door frames, and MOVED OVER 1000 MILES AWAY (in the sun, rain, sleet, and some snow) with all of our left over gear.... AND IT WAS AMAZING!! Read on...**Seriously, as long as you ratchet the carriers down tight to the tops of your vehicles, and velcro up your straps (everything is INCLUDED), you'll be good to go.**NOISE: was minimal to not at all. Once when we stopped I had to re-velcro one of the straps that was flapping a bit, but that was it. Seriously, I am very happy with both carriers. And they are both dried, folded, and stored for anyone else in the family who might need them.WATER RESISTANCE: These are water RESISTANT, not water PROOF, so while they do a super great job in keeping things MOSTLY DRY, if you're going through as much water as we did, some water is bound to get in. Not a ton, but a little.... so.... plan for that. Seal your contents inside tightly closed garbage, or contractor sized bags like we did. Problem solved.......This should be obvious anyway.**YOU'RE NOT ABOUT TO BUY SOME JAMES BOND LEVEL, TOTALLY SUBMERSIBLE UNDER WATER GEAR FOR THIS LITTLE PRICE TAG.**...Wake up to those who didn't seal their stuff in bags, whinging about a little wetness! But rest assured, unless you're in a torrential down pour like we were, your stuff will stay DRY.TAKE AWAY: These are thick, durable, water resistant, rugged, and reusable (if you use them right). We don't have storage racks on top of either of our vehicles so these were seriously an answer to prayer. After the cross country moving trailer hauled most of our things away, we needed to stay behind with some left over gear to wrap things up. You'd be surprised how that little bit of stuff adds up!! There was no way it was all fitting in both cars, so instead of renting a trailer (we have no towing hitch/package on our cars), or renting an entire UHAUL to tow our left-over stuff and one of our cars, we got these. THESE WERE SO MUCH WISER OF AN INVESTMENT.And we get to keep them for next time we or someone else needs them. I would buy them again for sure. Best of luck to you.

I bought this bag months ago, but finally recently used it. I have been through several types of bags over my years of needing a rooftop cargo bag. This bag has had a lot of thought and quality go into it.The bag holds A LOT! I got the 28cu ft. I love the 3 bag option but only used 1 of the bags on this recent trip, and used the remaining free space for larger items. I love that the bag can be opened all the way so I can be sure to use the bag to full potential if needed. The zipper closes easily, and seems well made for a lot of use. I recently threw away two other bags after other small trips due to breaking zippers.Next, I love the velcro on the straps to limit how tight I need to tie down the straps. We drove well over 70mph for 2 hours both ways and a strap never needed adjusting.The bag is waterproof, and not made out of rigid waterproof material that is hard to handle.My only minor complaint is the bags made for use inside of the bag can not be carried by the straps if the bag is heavy. We had maybe 15 lbs worth of items and the handle started to tear off the bag. Once we noticed that, it changed how we handled the bag, but it is still usable.I will update this post after my next trips in a few weeks if there is anything to add or that may change this review, but I do not see that happening.

A very good product works well and easy to use

28CuFt model holds a ton of stuff. I just took it on a camping trip on my caravan and I couldn't be happier. This cargo bag comes with 3 bags you can put inside,for this trip we used 2 of them. One we filled with dry goods (cereal, bread, snacks, also plates silverware etc) the other we stuffed it with 2 kids backpacks full of clothes, 1 full adult backpack, 3 sleeping bags, and 3 pillows. Then outside of those 2 large bags we added a suitcase, a king size comforter and sheet, a garbage bag full of clothes, 2 pillows, an adult backpack and a 50 gallon garbage bag full of clothes. WE. STILL. HAD. ROOM. Next time I'm going to not use my roof bar in the horizontal configuration because this thing is long enough that if I would've used my roof bars in a vertical configuration I could've gotten more stuff inside, and easier. (Basically my roof rack was smaller than the bag so the bag hung over it as you can see in the pictures.)From the zipper to the clips it definitely has a durable and waterproof feel to it. Very impressed with this Cargobag. I almost paid 3 times as much for a hardshell but I'm glad I didn't. On my way home I was driving next to someone that had a hard shell and I realized that I can definitely fit way more on my roof because the bag isn't a solid piece, it can form to your stuff instead of making sure your stuff fits inside the hard shell.I'm not one of those reviewers that get paid or whatever, just genuinely happy with my purchase and feel the need to share.If you're thinking about it just do it.

needed a roof top luggage carrier for our recent trip from valparaiso indiana to savannah georgia for our wedding (roughly 1000 miles one way). traveled in a honda pilot with 3 children (one baby) and 3 adults. The car just didn't have enough room for all our luggage, passengers, wedding dress, suit, etc. we researched for a while on the best one to buy. there are many options, most of them cheaper, but we didn't want to have to worry about it flying off the car on the interstate. this being the first bag type carrier we have used, we were a little nervous on the trip there about it coming loose. having a baby meant several rest stops, about every 100 miles or so. I checked the straps every time we stopped. The only time i was able to tighten them more was at the first rest stop when the luggage settled into place more. But even then, the straps weren't necessarily loose, i just wanted to keep them as tight as i could get them. Every stop after that, the straps stayed tight and the bag didn't budge. I kept my speed at 70 mph at most since we didn't know how it would perform, but could have gone faster. forecast was for sunny conditions all the way down, but we hit one lone thunderstorm that seemed to travel along with us for 3 hours. drove in torrential rain and high winds. we thought for sure everything in the bag was going to be soaked. When we arrived at our destination, we opened the bag and found the inside and all of the contents to be bone dry! the bag performed beyond our expectations, even without having a roof rack and needing to use the supplied hooks under the weatherstipping in the car doors. some reviews say doing it this way causes more road noise, which is true but expected and most of the time we didn't notice it. reviews also say the doors leaked in the rain when using the hooks. the rain we drove in could not have been any heavier, and we didn't get a single drop inside the car. the only thing i would change, is to make the straps longer. we had the bag expansion zipper unzipped to increase the space inside the bag since we had so much stuff. doing this made the straps on the ends barely long enough. we were unable to use the straps on the front and back of the bag because they were not long enough to reach around to the side hooks. we also could not use the strap in the middle because it was too short with the expansion zipper unzipped and the bag completely full. i put my own ratchet strap across the middle and attached it to two of the door hooks that came with the bag. other than this, the bag being one of the more expensive ones, is worth every penny. after hosing off all the dead locusts, it looks like new and ready for another road trip.**update**-it appears the middle strap and the front and back straps, that I could strap to the hooks because they were too short, are not intended to be strapped to the supplied hooks. I thought they were since it came with 6 hooks, but 2 must be spares. maybe they are only used to wrap around a luggage rail (which i do not have). this would explain why those straps were too short with the bag fully extended. I did, however, clip the straps together anyway even though it wasn't tied to anything. This essentially helps to tie down the zipper flap in the middle of the bag, and on the front and back of the bag. The zipper flap needs to be covering the zipper in order to keep it waterproof. If it happens to blow up while driving during a rainstorm, water will find a way to get in. This could be the reason for some of the reviews saying it is not waterproof. since i had these straps clipped and tight, the flap stayed down and I didnt get so much as a drop of water in the bag while driving in rain so heavy that people were pulling over. (would still recommend the manufacturer make all the straps longer though)

This is a solid piece of kit. Performs beyond my expectations. Very solidly built, thick canvas. Strong straps that work perfectly with the luggage rack on our 2011 Tahoe. Zipper is sturdy and protected under overhanging flap that secures on three sides via velcro tab. Top flap seals on three sides with fourth integrated with main body of bag. We were able to easily fit 2 large suitcases, 2 carryon sized cases, 2 small/medium duffle bags, 2 suit bags folded in half and still had a bit of room leftover. Straps emanate from all four sides of the bag and are equipped with 3 prong locking clasps. Straps can be tightened by pulling thru clasps and once done hold the bag and contents very securely to roof of vehicle. If u dont have a luggage rack, the bag comes with clasps that fit and feed under rubber door seals.We traveled from central Illinois to Beaufort, SC, from plains thru foothills and into Smoky Mountains then down into Carolina lowlands and eventually to coast. Tho not deluged, it did rain intermittently throughout trip and all our items stayed dry and secure.We were able to bring a thin foldup step ladder with us, tucked in the very back of the truck at the hatch and this made removal and installation of the bag and contents much easier than had we not, given the height of the vehicle combined with additional height of loaded bag. This was especially helpful given that we broke the trip into 2 segments south and 2 northward and therefore needed to remove and reinstall the bag and contents at each stop.Anyway, I highly recommend this thing. Should something fail, I will report that. I do know that eventually, if used frequently, retreating with waterproofing would likely be necessary. But man, I'm super impressed so far.

It’s good product with great value and very useful and safe. It took me a while to figure out how to use the straps, so I recommend clearer instructions. If you are buying this please note that if you want it fit the case it came with, you have to fold it back the same way it was packaged. So take note of that when you first use it.
