Feeling amazing after only one week!
Book Review: Effortless Healing 9 Ways to Sidestep Illness, Shed Excess Weight, and Help Your Body Fix Itself, by Dr. Joseph Mercola, Harmony Books, NY (I purchased my copy via Amazon Prime).Dr. Mercola presents an approach to re-balancing your life that seemed to make sense to me. So I read the book and have been following the Healing Principles. It has only been one week and the results I have experienced are startling:• Decreased cravings for sugar, processed foods, junk foods, etc.• Decreased sluggishness.• Increased energy - REALLY!• Decreased stiffness in my joints.• As a result of a calming to my negative emotions:o I am more relaxed.o Feel less stressed.o Experience less overreactions to frustrations.o Thyroid flare ups have been replaced with a calmer steadiness.o There is an overall sense of wellness that can only be described as a deep and abiding feeling of bliss, happiness, or peace. I am not really able to find the right word. Whatever this euphoric feeling is, it is felt all the way to my marrow. And no, I am not taking mind altering drugs.It is a risk to post this on Facebook because the next time I freak-out it is likely that someone will remind me that (in this post) I claimed to be a calmer, more loving, and more peaceful soul. That’s OK. Life is a journey!

You Need This Book!
This book is a must-read for everyone. I've seen some of the "nay-sayer" comments, but it was clear that they never made it past early chapters. Dr. Mercola gives - yes gives - you the keys to health for you and your family. Many of the foods/products that have been shilled as healthy and good for you simply are not. Dr. Mercola answers so many whys as to different diseases and maladies that have grown to epidemic proportions in recent years and how you don't have to be a victim and even how to come back from some pretty debilitating illnesses.I am so excited to be able to "take control" of my health in a meaningful way. I will be providing copies of this book to family members and friends who seek natural means toward great health.I highly recommend his book - it's far more than "common sense." You will be blown away by the incredible information that is yours for the reading. I have it on kindle and audible, but purchased the hard copy to be able to reference items more quickly and refer to (what will become) my highlights.THANK YOU, DR. MERCOLA!!!

Destroys the low-fat myth.
Don't be afraid of fats (most of them, some are bad). Fat does not make you fat. The enemy is sugars and cheap carbs. The book goes into many aspects of a healthy diet and explains things well without a lot of medical and biochemical jargon. You don't have to follow the book to the letter to gain benefit. I lost 55 pounds over the last year and I'm keeping it off just by following about half of the advice. If you want to lose weight and more importantly, regain health all the way around, this book will guide you very well.

How To Restore Good Health for Most People
This excellent and timely book is must reading for everyone with health problems from faulty life styles from addictive eating of unhealthy foods, addictive drinking of unhealthy beverages, and leading sedentary lives. For if those so afflicted would follow Dr. Mercola's program most will regain good health as Dr. Mercola's experience with thousands of patients demonstrates. It should also be required reading for the medical profession and other health care providers to prescribe Dr. Mercola's program, not prescription drugs, to their patients. His book is also a devastating indictment of the food and beverage industry for knowingly putting excessive profits from addictive foods and beverages ahead of, and at the expense of, the public health.

Dr. Mercola - Healthy Alternatives!
I'm about 1/3 the way through the book. Typical Dr. Mercola. All of the information is thoroughly researched and easy to put into practice for a healthier life. If everyone took the advice of Dr. Mercola, they would have far fewer visits to the Dr for issues that could be prevented. If you read and re-read this book and pay attention, you will change how you eat, exercise and you will use extreme caution with the chemicals you use in and outside of your home. You can be lazy and live a sickly life or you can follow Dr. Mercola and live a healthier life that is better for you and all those around you by preventing toxins from taking control of you and the family you love! He could be a health visionary
Mercola is brilliant. This book is laid out almost in outline form with all the substance you would expect in a health book. He is easy to follow and his ideas about eating natural fasts, low carbs and average amounts of protein are very good. His warnings about bovine growth hormone in dairy products is something I was not aware of. His chapter on intermittent fasting is easy to understand. All in all his advice is to stay away from sugar which is what the low carbs are about.

this is an awsome book, and worth WAY more than the price of the Kindle edition ! Dr. Mercola goes over some very good ideas to help manage your health and you can modify your fitness plan and diet to add these ideas either all at once, or a little bit at a time, whichever works best for you.

Getting back to basics is what we need for ourselves and our planet. Thanks for hard cover, I can't get e-books.
I found this book to be very informative. It's a good read. I'm incorporating as much as I can into my life style because it just makes good sense. If you give your body what it needs nutritionly it really can heal itself. This book explains how you can accomplish good health naturally. I'm saying it's about time! I'm so glad Dr. Mercola is so passionate about his work. I wish there were more like him.

a book that tell me how to get better
I did not start ready properly the book I just got it. but for what I read of it so far is scary to see that I have been intoxicating myself for that long and blaming the science for something wrong of my own. if like me you have been eating junk food for that long are overweight and don't know how to lose the fat well read this book. I am fed up with all the skin problem I am having and this book tells me how to repair my body from inside out. first, stop sugar the biggest drug it does you harm like you don't know.

This is an excellent book by Dr Mercola. Very informative and useful.

Essential book for maintaining health and fitness.
I am a great fan of Dr Mercola's daily newsletter anyway, but this book condenses his insights into one volume, and is a must for anyone who is endeavouring to use natural means to maintain health and fitness. The science in this book is really sound too.
