Worked right out of the box
I just used this auger for the first time in an attempt to clear my daughter’s slow draining bathroom sink. As you can see from the picture, it pulled up a large wad of hair and a bit of plastic wrapping and now the sink is draining perfectly. I then went on to clear out two other sinks even though they weren’t clogged as a bit of preventative maintenance.I found the tool easy to use if you follow the included simple instructions (printed and on YouTube). It seems pretty sturdily made and it has quite a bit of torque so feed the cable out slowly and carefully. If it starts binding, stop and tug the cable by hand a bit and then start feeding the cable out again. When finished, you just reverse the motor and out it comes. The hardest part was pulling the attached hair clog off the cable spiral tip.A minor complaint is that the included gloves are mesh on the top and hence not waterproof. I switched over to my own trusty yellow cleaning gloves. Somewhat more importantly, as others have noted, you have no idea how much of the cable has been extended. While not absolutely necessary, it would be nice if there were markings on the cable that let you know how far you’ve extended the cable down the drain. I held a paper towel loosely against the cable as I reversed it back out to clean it as it retracted. It comes with the battery, a battery charger, printed instructions and a nice travel bag.

SYmphony of pipes is no more!!!
Hell of a unit. I like it better than my Ryobi actually. It has a thicker cable. OPnly probelm I can see is interchangable ends but maybe I can get an end kit that will allow attachments. I was using the unit practically right out of the box.nice kit. gloves, battery, charger and a damned nice carrying bag.I basically had a clogged 3" vent system up the side of the house from the tank being overfull years ago that never cleared itself. It was tolerable for a while, but lately it had gotten much much worse, toilet not flushing correctly but every half hour or so. When using the showing the toilet sang off a bubbly melody and when using any sinks the tub would gurgle along. I nicknamed it the Symphony of Pipes . After running the snake of this tool per the instructions (very important), I kept at it and weakened the gunk down in the joint of the pictured network of pipe knuckles, and I then put a hose to it and heard ssome gurgle in the house, then a loud whoosh from this pipe. Halleluyah!!!

Worked well
It works, that's the bottom line. I had previously used a manual turn drain snake, and that worked -- barely -- but was hard to use and in such a cramped space as the underside of the sink, was torturous and almost impossible. This motorized product was an incredible difference. What used to be a very hard, arduous job took 15 minutes. The key to remember is when it won't snake any further, to stop the forward motion and use slow rotation to gently guide the snake past the turns in the pipes. The only thing I might criticize is its possible lack of durability. It feels a bitch cheap. Nonetheless, it worked well (I ran it through twice without any problems). I consider it a good buy.

Outstanding Device and Value - so much better than using hand wound auger.
The product works great and is SO much better than a hand wound auger. Better yet, the customer service. When I wrote an email about needing a repair to the unit (I broke the cable) and the email was answered within minutes. When I explained I had just bought and receive the unit, the representative sent a replacement, no questions asked. The new unit arrived within 48 hours. This company backs its products 100%. Highest praise. Would buy again.

Worth every penny
Got this because i had a basement drain clogged up real bad ... had a cheap 15.00 HF snake drill type snake on hand that broke within min and was useless (although it did pull some hair ..but diddnt fix the prob) used this and the clog was gone within miniutes . Unfortunately it diddnt pull the clog out it appears it either just broke it up or pushed it out ... either way it fixed the issue so thats all that matters and it did pull some hair on the way out .... the build quality is great everything feels really nice and strong its alot smaller and lighter then i imagined and therfore super super easy to use evey one handed the forward and reverse function is super easy to use and being able to go forward backward clockwise or counter clock wise adds alot of usefullness ... deff a great great product and id highly reccomend ... saved me hundreds i imagin for not having to call a plumber
