Easy and effective
I needed to reattach a handful of tiles around the waterline of a pool for a friend. I think there were about 7 tiles that needed attention. I took the time to chisel off residual grout from the tiles and doing a dry fit, before starting the bonding process. I used the EZPatch4 for bonding the tiles in place and for the grout around the perimeter. The EZPatch was easy to prepare and did a great job holding the tiles. Mix ratio is pretty sensitive and I had a tendency to bounce between undershooting thickness and then overshooting before getting the ideal 'mashed potato' texture. The grout was effective both above and below the waterline. The set up time was pretty fast (on the order of a few minutes) before it stiffened and solidified, but there was enough warning (gradual heating and thickening) to allow me to wrap up. I got the 3 lb container but could easily have gotten away with the 1 lb container.

Works great
Works great, even under water and dries hard.

Tricky to use
It is tricky to use at or under the pool waterline. Let it get firm and use only a small amount at a time and you'll waste less of it. It is better as a grout than as an adhesive behind the tile because it lacks hold when wet. Buy plenty of extra because most of what you use will end up in the water. I wish it has better adhesion in water, but with plenty of patience the results are good.

Great product
Really solid, strong product.I redid the grout for the tiles at the rim of the pool. There was big holes and missing or almost gone grout along the entire pool edge. It looks so good now! Used little amounts and added water or more powder to get proper consistent. Wish I had a before and after. I did not try to do this under the water but there was very heavy rains after I applied and I didnโt lose any of it Iโve never really worked with grout before but it wasnโt hard at all.

Easy to use, just don't mix too much at once
As long as you adhere to small batches, you can not beat this for pool coping. It sets up really fast, so that does slow down the progress a bit since you have to keep mixing up the small batches as you go, but the end result is outstanding. Only bought two 3 pound jugs first to try it out, but went back and bought a 50 pound bucket to finish the project and have some for minor repairs and such going forward. Not sure how this would fare going under water as it dissipates very quickly when submerged, but I could see mixing it to a drier state than what I am using (like instant mashed potatoes) could help it stick to the joints under water.

Be Careful of Home Much Water You Use. It Does Not Look Like It Will Last for Long Term
Watch how much water you use. It takes longer to mix to consistency and longer to dry. You don't want to waste too much cement. After drying and inspecting, I am not confident that this will last long. It seems to be flaking even though I filled a fair amount of cement and filled in the edges flush. I have let it sit for 3 days now and it feels fine for the moment. There is no "hollow void" sound when I give the tiles a knock but time will tell. If you are working with tiles above water level, it might be a better idea to buy EZ Patch 3 to cement the tile on the first day and use EZ Patch 4 as the tile grout on the second day. Also, the Amazon description mentions to put liquid bonder, however the bottle label on the EZ Patch 4FS has no mention of that. It only says to mix with water. EZ Patch 4 Tile Grout bottle mentions to put liquid bonder. So be careful of which one you order. Edit: It's now August 2023 and the tiles have started coming loose. So this stuff doesn't last long. I will have to use thinset cement and grout separately.

Make very small batches because this stuff dries fast.
I am regrouting the tiles in my pool and it is a tedious job. This grout works, but it sets so fast that you dont have a lot of time to use it, so make small amounts and work fast. It goes on like regular grout above the waterline, but below the water it just washes away, so I use small chunks of the hardened grout for that inch that is below the surface. I put it up against the grout line and force it in, then I grout above it like normal. It is the only way I could get it to work.
