I've been playing acoustic guitar for over 60 years, and have owned cheap ones, good ones and ones for which you'd happily pawn your grandmother's Picasso. This very inexpensive 3/4-size starter was a perfect birthday gift for my 10-year-old student who was struggling with a kid-sized solid-body and a touchy amp. It's solid, with nice tone and a neck width & length he can handle. The strings must be retuned when new to get them properly stretched, but that happens with all nylon strings. (The guitar ships with loose strings.) The intonation is very good for the price, just a few cents off at the octave. There were no buzzes, and the nut had no sharp edges to nick the strings. The action is a just little high at the body (not unusually so, but a bit too high for playing easily in the higher frets); that's not an issue for playing near first position, which most people do for years. (The action could be lowered with a simply shaving of the bridge, if the frets aren't too prominent.) The nylon strings are a must for kids' fingers on any cheap acoustic guitar. (Tight steel strings and a high action are a major reason they quit early.) The 3/4 size creates a manageable body, shorter scale and smaller fret spaces, all of which help as well. The included "gig bag" is slightly protective; one reviewer called it more a "dust cover," but that's OK. I didn't check out the included YouTube introductory lessons. There's an included tuner and instructions for using it. (Tuning is one of the harder things for kids to learn.) All in all a great value, promptly delivered!

First off - this does not come set up in any way shape or form. If you are not familiar with guitars and buy this for a child please know that it's not a horrible instrument just because the strings come loose. The first thing I did is replace the strings - I got the nylon version and nylon strings are notorious for taking forever to stretch out to their final length. Another thing to be aware of - the guitar going out of tune with brand new strings is not the guitar's fault - that's just the nature of classical guitars and since it wasn't setup or tuned from the factory it's going to take a while after you get it for it to stay in tune because the strings are stretching out slowly. I pick the guitar right up by the strings and bounce it a bit to help stretch things out when I change nylon strings. Second, this is a 70 dollar guitar, manage your expectations. I have about 10 different stringed instruments in my possession in varying qualities. I've bought cheaper instruments when I was planning on spending a chunk of money because the cheaper instruments can sometimes play and sound much better. You don't need to spend a massive amount of money for a solid instrument - and frankly the Pyle brand is pretty excellent for the cost. I own a bunch of their microphones and they are pretty epic honestly. I've had people listen to my podcast and tell me how impressed they are with my sound quality and think I'm using 100$+ microphones - and I'm finding the same with the guitar quality. Good tuners, decent bridge, it's really not bad. The finish is not great though - if you are purchasing an instrument for aesthetics this probably isn't for you. They put some weird coating on the fret board that was already flaking off when I got it - though I bought this as a beater guitar so I really don't care. There was also cracking in the finish at the bottom of the guitar. None of this affects playability or sound - so I don't care. I bought some fun fret marker stickers since this doesn't have any inlays, and the new strings I bought are funky colors. It looks pretty awesome for the 90$ I spent in total with the strings and inlay stickers. It sounds good. It feels great in my hands. I can toss this one in the car or put it on the floor and I couldn't care less if it gets scratched - money well spent.

Fair warning, I ended up returning this guitar. Got it as a warehouse deal, but it was much more damaged cosmetically than described. I've been playing guitar for a little over 6 months, and my other guitar is a steel string dreadnought. Not much experience with nylon strings. I'm definitely no expert, but these are my thoughts. Before returning I played with it for a while to test it out to see if I wanted to order a replacement. I decided against reordering and will likely purchase a classical guitar at a higher price point. That being said: Pro: took a little while to get it to stay in tune, but once it was it sounded pretty decent. I also liked the size, both depth and length. Much smaller than a standard guitar, as expected from the description. Strings were easy to play, compared to steel. Also, love the color pattern. Cons: warehouse deal said the packaging was damaged, but in this case the guitar was as well. Did not factor into my 3 star rating, as it's not a reflection of the product. If it hadn't been damaged, or had been at a lower price point I may have considered keeping it, but I likely would have returned for something a bit higher quality. Quality wise, you're buying a cheap guitar. All in all, it actually plays better than I expected it would. It's marketed for beginners, and I think this is due to the price. Just know, you get what you pay for. It may be frustrating for a new player to never be in tune, and thus not want to play. Not saying this is the case, I didn't play it long enough to know if that's an issue, but I did have to retune it quite a bit the short time I had it. If your budget is $60, and you can't find a used one, this probably isn't a bad choice.

I've wanted a guitar for pretty much my entire life. I've always been unable to get one because of either lack of money, or not being able to find a good one. When I found this guitar, after a LONG time of looking everywhere on the internet, I knew that I had to buy it. The reviews were good, sure maybe some were iffy, but overall it looked great. It just arrived today, and I'm genuinely SHOCKED at how good it looks. It's polished, has three steel strings and three nylon strings (which I'll talk about later), comes with a digital clip-on tuner, guitar pick, replacement strings and a guitar strap. I'm 5'-5'1 and this guitar is the PERFECT size for me. It's not too small, and not too big (although a little bigger than I expected but that's a good thing because I wasn't sure if it'd be too small for me or not). There are a few cons to this guitar, mainly the fact that the guitar strap doesn't really attach. It has a knob at the bottom of the guitar that you can attach it to but then the instructions direct you to just tie it around the headstock, and that's not really how you're supposed to attach a guitar strap (I mean, I'm pretty sure anyway). I personally don't really need the strap anyways, but if that's a major thing for you that might be a bit of a problem. Other than that, it does look a tiny bit...dinged up? I'm not sure if that's the word for it, but if you look really closely at all the details around the fretboard, it looks a bit scratched up. It doesn't affect the overall beauty of the instrument nor the sound of it, so that's not really a big deal for me but I thought I'd include it in my review for honesty's sake. The problem I do have with this guitar though, is that the nylon strings are VERY loose. I'm not sure if that's just a mistake on my part or what, because frankly this is my first guitar and I'm really not sure if I tuned it correctly (probably not), but I have been told the strings should be okay how they are? Apparently nylon strings are supposed to be looser. Other than that, this is a great instrument and I would 100% recommend buying this if you're looking for a budget guitar. It's not super pricey, it sounds great, and looks beautiful. (I named my guitar Anastasia by the way, she's gorgeous, see the attached picture!)

As a singer and brass player for 70 years, I decided to expand my musical enjoyment and just received my first guitar today. I didn't want to bet the farm on something I'd never tried, so I shopped the economy offerings and settled on a used Pyle 36" 6-string instrument. I wasn't expecting much more than a basic practice guitar, so when I opened the box this morning and randomly thumbed a couple of strings, I was blown away by the quantity and quality of sound that resulted. The tone was full and rich and very pleasing, although horribly out of tune. All the reviews I read before the purchase warned about the difficulty in tuning new nylon strings, and I now strongly second the motion, but they also stressed that a few days of adjustment would allow the strings to settle in and hold their pitch nicely. The moral to my tale so far is that "you get what you pay for" doesn't always hold true. The $41.38 that I paid for this guitar and accessories (including $3.00 sales tax) seems a very small price to pay for what I believe I have received. It is a beautiful instrument with a tone quality I never would have expected. I realize I have a long way to go in this new adventure, but to say that I am greatly pleased so far is a gross under statement.

For a junior size guitar, it is not a bad purchase. I bought it for my daughter (9) who never played before. Not knowing how she'd like it/use it, I didnt want to spend the money on an expensive instrument. Also wanted something that would be a good size, the size is perfect for her to handle. My biggest complaint is the quality (which is what to expect when you pay a cheaper price). with that said, i would have liked it to have shown a little more strenghts. the guitar shipped with almost no tension on the strings. (now i dont know if that is a con necessarily, but an observation). when trying to Tune the strings, the first time i struggled with the tuning knobs keeping tension. after fiddling around for a few extra minutes, all was good. Overall, it does lose its "tune" rather quickly. which depending on the user and their purpose may change the importance of that. I would say anyone who is seriously interested in learning the guitar should spend the money for something better. BUT anyone one sure or for a kid just getting their feet wet, this works great without breaking the bank on a gamble.

Learning to play an instrument is an early bucket list item of mine. For me, music is a foreign language, If you know me you know I'm very monolingual and I just could never wrap my head around understanding music. I'll admit I didn't want to waste money on something that I might give up on so I went the cheap route. I was very surprised by this guitar. I was expecting it to look cheap and sound horrible. While it won't stand up to an expensive guitar it very adequately gets the job done. I was expecting in the long run to get frustrated with it and either hang it on the wall or give it to the kids if they ever put their phones down long enough to look at it. TL/DR. The nylon strings are good to get you started but a set of steel strings will make it sound very nice. In tune with good strings it can easily throw pleasant sound. If you are 6' like me it can be difficult to hold comfortably and the action may need adjusting. A bit of sanding on the bridge took care of that (learning to adjust and care for instruments is part of learning to play and there's toms of vids on it). I did get a full size electric 2 weeks later but still keep this one in the shop to practice my fingering. It's kind of nice to be kicked back in my office chair strumming chords. And what really surprised me was 2 weeks after getting it I played my first song. The wife knew what the tune was immediately when she walked in the door from work. So yes, if you want to give it a try but think it may end up being a piece of dust collecting wall art then this guitar is perfect. I don't feel compelled to force it on the kids and while it would look nice sitting in the corner of the house or on the wall of my beach shop...I'd still rather take it out and play a few tunes.

We celebrated our family Christmas on the eve of Dec. 27th - I purchased this guitar with all the bell & Whistles shortly before Thanksgiving. It arrived 1st week of Dec. I didn't open the box to make sure nothing was touched. Grandson was so excited with his gift. It came with a very thin bag that basically was going to keep guitar protector from dust. No problem BUT the bag was already zipped and had a broken zipper hang by threads which trying to open bag, the zipper broke completely off. I told my daughter I'd call and have them replace the bag. I called Cust. Serv. on Monday, Dec. 29th shortly after they opened. I was told by "Monica Jerusalem" to send photos (sent 6) & descrip. of what the problem was & at that time I indicated that I sure didn't want to return the Guitar over a broken zipper bag. She'd get back to me shortly. NO response, called again on Jan. 7th & chatted w/different CSR - she told me that I'd have to pay for the shipping of bag. I asked what the cost would be b/c the bag itself would fit in a 5x7 envelope!! She said she didn't know but would get back to me within 24 hrs via email. Haven't heard anything yet (2-28-26). Jan.19th, Monica emailed me asking if I had registered the guitar -why would I if they're not going to replace the bag & also mentioned the conversation w/other CSR & there was NO Paperwork as to how to register. I asked her again about the bag replacement & info. IF I was to register it. Feb. 11th Monica replied with a website to register guitar BUT didn't not respond about bag replacement, as of today, Feb. 28th No Replacement Bag & have NOT heard back from Monica or any other person in regards to this matter. My husband & I believe you purchase from Companies that have good Customer Service, that they'll be there should a problem come up, well this is NOT one of them and I can tell you without a doubt I Will NEVER purchase any more musical instruments from this company nor other companies associated with Pyle. Buyer Beware - Very Aware!!

This starter acoustic kit offers excellent value for absolute beginners, with an affordable price and a plug-and-play feel right out of the box. It’s equipped with all the essentials you’ll need to get going—straps, picks, tuner—making it a smart choice for new players. On the flip side, the build quality and tuning stability are a bit hit-or-miss, so expect to spend some time tweaking or upgrading parts if you’re serious. Sound-wise it’s serviceable for practice, but it lacks the richness, sustain, and precision you’ll find in higher-tier instruments, so it won't satisfy experienced players. Overall—if you’re just starting your guitar journey and don’t want to overspend, this kit does the job; but if commitment is deeper, you’ll likely want to move up sooner rather than later.

Great starter kit for beginner!

Having played guitar for over 20 years this was a surprisingly good guitar! It’s perfect for a child or young person and even an adult. The tuning as with all guitars needs to be done before every use but tends to hold its tuning quite well after a while. Environment moisture etc will affect tuning so don’t expect it to be in tune every time you pick it up. This is normal. The tuner that comes with it is easy to use and works well but can be a little finicky between notes. The appearance is great and there is no damage or problems with the neck or body. The strap and accessories are great and is great value for money especially as a beginner instrument. I bought this to take on holiday and because I have short fingers and arms so it’s super easy to play. The action is good and the strings are comfortable to play and don’t require a huge amount of hand strength. Altogether it’s a great instrument!
