These Hartz pet Flea & Tick collars REALLY WORK! For MONTHS! They make them for cats AND dogs
I have been using Hartz flea collars for many decades! (I know, shows my age!) They have ALWAY worked. Make sure you follow the directions - you MUST STRETCH them BEFORE you put them on your pet, to activate the medicine. Then smell it & you should smell the medicine. It isn't strong enough to bother the pet, or their master. We live across the street from a large State Park, & it is loaded with deer, thus it is loaded with ticks. And these deer come into my yard all the time. One time I bought expensive flea & tick medicine from my vet - & it cost $50 PER PET. And guess what? It did not work very well at all - my husband had to pull ticks off my cats, and my dogs. No more! I'm not pulling ticks. They NEVER get fleas or ticks wearing these collars. I only buy Hartz - they have ALWAYS worked for me!

Collar is Amazing. Following the directions keeps you and your cat safe.
This collar is amazing. My cat at 6 months old had a very bad flea infestation and I tried this collar on him and it worked amazingly.I highly recommend giving your cat a very good bath before applying the collar to kill a large bulk of fleas on them, or getting a professional one. I paid about 80$ at petco for my cat to get a flea bath and it took about 2 hours however that saved me much more money than spending months of fighting fleas with many expensive products. If you want to do it at home, look up some tutorials because some of them teach you what to do in order to prevent fleas from retreating to your cats face during a bath.In order to prevent chemical burns, wash your hands after taking the collar out of the packaging and stretching it to activate it. Brand new collars are when the chemicals are at its strongest. When first putting it onto your cat, you can either set it aside for about 3 days after activating the collar to put it on your cat in case they have sensitivities.Or, you can put it on right away but keep it Very loose. For the first few days I made sure I could fit 4-5 fingers underneath the collar while it was on my cat. This would make sure that the close contact with his skin wouldn’t irritate him while the chemical was at its strongest. Over the span of a week i tightened it to to fit about 3 fingers. He was still growing at the time so I left room for him to grow into a bit. It was loose enough to comfortably slip the collar on and off over his head.Since his flea infestation was so bad I left the excess of collar on him for the first 2 months especially since I would need to adjust it later. It’s not a bad idea to cut the excess off and put it into your vacuum bag for killing fleas around the place. My apartment is about 80% carpet and there are many fabrics and blankets for fleas to hide in. This killed and repelled fleas perfectly. The reason for fleas still persisting for other reviewers is because you also have to vacuum and wash every fabric, blanket, sheet, bedding, and clothes that you have. You also have to get other products that are meant to kill fleas in the environment.I purchased a powder to sprinkle on carpet and leave to dwell for a few hours and vacuum up and I did that once a week for about 3 weeks before we were flea free. I moved every piece of furniture to make sure everything was coated and this has left my apartment and my cat flea free for over 6 months. He has had no itching or irritation around his neck from this collar. The instructions advise against using this on kittens, elderly, and medicated cats.During flea season I used flea meds with this collar to prevent later on infestation. I only did this once the collar was on for 4 months. It would interact less and I made sure the collar was off for about 5 days after applying the meds. He has been perfectly fine all this time and no vets have advised against it or seen anything wrong with him.You and your cat will be perfectly fine as long as you closely follow instructions and keep an eye on it for the first month. Fleas will be gone with this collar AND other steps taken to kill and prevent fleas within the home. It takes a lot of work and time and money to get rid of fleas and its very tedious but this was one of the best things to help get rid of fleas. Bowls of soap and water did not catch a single flea compared to this. Also recommend getting a cat deworming med after the fleas are gone. Cats can get fecal tapeworms from ingesting a flea and since they are self groomers theres an extremely high chance they will. My cat did. There are some decently priced ones here on amazon where i got mine and it worked after the first dose.

It works… smells funny.. tastes horrible.. (if I had to guess)
Cat is scratching more after beginning to wear it. It’s definitely aggravating the few remaining parasites. Collar itself doesn’t seem to bother him. Safety hazards for all pesticides are concerning. Use gloves and don’t lick it.. ☠️

Attracts Fleas
Bought 7 collars 2 for dogs and 5 for cats. Hart flea collars attract fleas, they do not kill fleas.I've always used seresto collars and they work like magic. Collars weren't lasting full 8 months so I asked my vet. He said try different collars, maybe fleas population is developing immunity. Didn't have super high hopes with these because they seemed way too cheap to actually last as advertised. However, 11k reviews with 4 stars what would it hurt to try.....Gave everyone capstar to kill anything on them. Received the collars 2 days later and put them on. No visible fleas on my dogs or cats when collars went on. Some flea eggs, but collar should be working by the time they hatch. Figured we would be good.......11 days my animals had these collars on and the fleas exploded! The dogs had huge nests of flea eggs 2 in away from the collars and huge nest of flea eggs on their bums (not there when collars went on). The fleas were crawling all over them and me! My poor cats weren't any better with the fleas playing on their collars and crawling all over their faces. Fleas were 4 times worse then when I took the old seresto collars off. They were everywhere!Pulled these collars off received new seresto collars 2 days later. Within 4 days wearing new seresto collars no more fleas on dogs, no more fleas on cats, no more nests of flea eggs, no more fleas in the house. These may work for some, but they definitely did not work for us. Makes me wonder if reviews were skewed. Will stick with seresto, even if they quit working a month early, still way more reliable and cheaper than other options I've found.

Effective collar
I bought this for a neighborhood cat that has decided to move in with us. He is outdoors during the nice weather but comes inside sometimes, too, whenever the weather is cold or rainy. I worried that he would bring fleas and ticks in with him so I decided to order this collar. So far so good. I have found a couple of dead fleas on him so it seems like it's working. And I have never seen a tick on him which is outstanding since we are surrounded by woods and find lots of ticks. He doesn't seem to mind this collar at all. It stays on but it has a breakaway clasp for safety if he gets it caught on something. I also like that it's reflective for better visibility. Seems like a good quality collar for a reasonable price. The collar is listed as being effective for several months, but I plan to change it about every 3-4 months to ensure that he remains free of fleas and ticks. Recommend this collar.

Be careful with Hartz!
I’m only rating 5 stars as I have had no problems with my cat with this certain product but I have just learned of the danger of Hartz brand. Good at protecting against flee’s but please look into Hartz as many cats have been harmed so please be careful :(
