Great photos. Good but not extensive info about famous gardens. Weighted slightly more to celeb's private gardens that you would be unlikely to see, and they are mostly modern outdoor environments rather than traditional gardens, lovely to look at and good for ideas if you like that sort of thing (some of which I do). A few hotel gardens- nice if you think you might go for a cocktail somewhere different. Text moderately interesting but for in-depth garden info you need to go further. So- a good coffee table book and an intro to some famous places- Versailles, Tuileries.

Beautiful! Describes Garden Estates, Private Gardens, and Public Parks. Lots of color photos.
Beautiful! The book consists of three parts: Garden Estates, Private Gardens, and Public Parks. The Garden Estates section describes things like the Luxembourg Gardens and the Monet garden at Giverney. Private Gardens describes the little roof-top gardens (maybe 30 to 300 square meters) on the upper floors of the Paris apartment buildings. Finally, the last section describes the small and large public parks. All the photos are in color. I wasn't all that impressed with some of the little private gardens, but I guess true garden lovers just groove on that sort of thing.

Convoluted
In my opinion, this book is chopped up and convoluted with disparate photos of different angles of the same garden or different gardens pulled together on facing pages or on the same page. The photos actually seemed unrelated. I literally could not make heads or tails of what the author was trying to convey. I have another book by the author which is superb so I was greatly disappointed and returned the book. I have a large library of garden design books and would have kept it if it was at least at least average.
