Probation/Parole Officer Exam

Great book. Lots of help for preparing my son for the police officers exam. You don't want any surprises and this book gives you and overview on what to expect when the test arrives.

I was told by many that there wasn't anyway to study for the State Merit Test for Probation and Parole. Being a focused student, I felt there had to be some sort of study guide and this was it. Without the practice tests in this book I feel I would not have done as well on the State Merit Test as I did. I passed the test with a high score and am now on the register for a position with Probation and Parole when it comes open. :)

I was disappointed with this book. There was not one thing in it that pertained to the NJ Probation Test.Therefore, I had no help and I had to pay for a copy of this book brand new. Needless to say, I failed the probation officers test by several points.

Generally the context of the book is fine. However, while working on the tests, I noticed several times when the answer key was wrong. The answer keys "correct answer" does not correspond with the explanation that follows This is a bit confusing! The book does put you in the mindset for the type of questions to be asked and the frame of mind you have to be in to answer. Anyone who takes the civil service exams knows there might be three right answers. What is the "correct" right answer? I will repost after I take the exam and receive the results.

Exactly what I wanted. It gives you detailed questions and it also gives you the answers so you know what parts to study for more.

A few answers NOT real world, but were either “politically correct” & ineffective, or resorted to physical control too early, although possibly “legally”. Good preparation for employment tests which are currently often “politically correct”, not real world.

Too much unnecessary information to study that wasnt needed for the actual test. U are better off viewing free sample test online
