DO.NOT.WAIT.
So, I thought about giving this a 1 star rating so people like me that go directly to the reviews that are negative would read this. Didn't want to do that and effect the seller in a bad way. I had reservations about buying this as there were some people that either were reviewing the wrong item, didn't know what they were doing or something else. Anyhow, I got this for a Mantis that my wife purchased back in 2007 because she 'needed' one. I haven't done much to it maintenance wise other that air filter, spark plug and gear grease over the years. I don't always use it every year and when it does get used it is small jobs and mostly edging the driveway or sidewalk. Needless to say, for the price compared to the Mantis option I thought I could take a $12 loss if it didn't work out. Prior to buying this I pretty much disassembled the original carburetor and cleaned everything with spray cleaner and probed around in the different holes as best I could. That really didn't make much difference. I have always been able to get this running but it was a problem over the last 10 years or so and I had to do things like keep the choke partially closed or get it to full throttle and keep it there until I was finished. Now, the only issue I ran into is that the tolerances on everything are very tight. I initially had a thin silver flat washer from one of the screws that secure the carb to the engine and didn't see where it came from so, I just added it to the screw on the rear side of the engine along with the already existing flat washer and lock washer. Well, when trying to screw that back in it simply would not catch. I attributed that to the new gaskets as well as the fact that I did not have an existing gasket between the air cleaner/choke assembly and the carb body. By laying the machine on it's side and applying enough pressure while screwing the screw I got it to catch. Not so nice as now the choke would not operate as there was too much pressure to allow it to move. So I took the carb back off and looked a little deeper at things. Come to discover that the thin silver washer that I did not know where it went was actually supposed to go in the center of the choke flap. That creates enough space between the air cleaner/choke assembly so that the choke flap does not get compressed to the point it doesn't move. I still had to apply a little pressure to get those 2 screws that attach the carb to the engine to catch the threads in the engine, but I attributed that to the new and gaskets, including the one that I did not have previously. I also replaced the spark plug with the one provided and set the gap at .025 as that is the closest I could get to the recommended .024-.028. I also installed one of the provided air cleaners. They are a little different than the OEM filters, but I think they are an improvement. So, the moment of truth. I put some new gas in, primed the fuel system with the pump, went with full choke and it started on the FIRST pull. Wow, just wow. The only adjustments I made were to increase the idle somewhat and I had to lean the high mixture about half a turn. I let it run for a while but did not put it to work. Next day I went out and it started on the second pull and I used hard it for probably 30 minutes. If I knew this was going to solve my problems so easily on inexpensively, I would have done this years ago. Do not hesitate to buy this if you are having any sort of problems with you Mantis running like it did when it was new. Do it now.

It's as easy as it looks
Like everyone else here says: It just works. I've taken apart many small power tool carbs and cleaned them, replaced gaskets and diaphragms. But for $12 you get so much more; filters, fuel lines, spark plug, and it works great. Didn't adjust any settings. The Mantis hadn't run in at least ten years, until that third pull.

Good fit
It was just like the original carburetor and hoses but it didn't want to run on that airfilter put the original one in and it ran fine. But for the price you can't go wrong

Absolutely worth it.
Awesome! Was easy and fun to install. (I’m not mechanically inclined.) Started up on the first pull.

Carb review
I bought this for an Echo set of hedge trimmers . It worked amazing it came with an all the gaskets and tubes needed for the fuel tank. I put this Carb on and ran the new tubes into gas tank and put the new gaskets provided and the trimmers fired right up.

Very easy carburetor replacement!
I ordered this replacement kit yesterday, and received it today, late morning. I have a 20+ year old Mantis tiller. Haven't used it in at least 8 years, and expected carb problems since it is a 2 stroke. I did a complete servicing of everything on the tiller, except the carb and related things. The original had issues with the fuel primer not functioning correctly. Probably a clog in the upper portion, as primer bulb would not fill, but would flood the carb. Anyway, it took about 15 minutes to swap carbs. I am mechanically inclined. Unlike the reviews I read, my rubber plug fit the fuel tank correctly. In addition, there was a 2nd plug packed in the kit. I don't know whether there was a size change over the years, but the kit has been updated. I knew that my spark plug was good, and the engine would fire with the old carb, but only for a second or two. Once I completed the swap, my tiller started on the first pull. I did tweak the adjustments on both high and low slightly, and was still getting a slightly fast idle. The idle adjustment did nothing through its entire range. I used the tiller for about 15 minutes, and the idle did slow down, so was able to make the necessary adjustments then. I continued using the tiller for a few hours off and on, and it would start with one or two pulls, depending on how much it had cooled down. No complaints whatsoever on the product, and the other items in the kit, which I will have for future use if necessary. I have a number of gas powered pieces of equipment, and have learned that it just doesn't pay to fuss around with the old, when a new carb is so cost effective. In the past 2 years I have replaced 3 carbs on different lower use maintenence equipment, all purchased here at Amazon. I've had similar results on all occasions. I love it when things just work! Just guessing, my Echo backpack leaf blower will probably be next in line come fall.

Likes: - easy to install; worked without any adjustments; fuel line grommet fit in the gas tank. Dislikes: didn’t use the air filter as it was the wrong size. No big deal as they are available at Home Depot. Didn’t use the spark plug, but will save it for later. I’ll have to remember to keep using fuel stabilizer to avoid this in the future.

All the parts are mostly useable. The filters were wrong for my tiller and the grommet for the fuel lines etc. was too big. I exchanged the tubing to the old grommet and everything is good. Otherwise the carburetor is a good replacement for the original.

Easy to install, engine fired right up. Didn’t have to change any of the settings, idled and run better than expected. Would purchase again.
