Great headphones

These headphones are identical to the MDR-ZX310 model, but with the "smartkey" function and built in microphone.You get a single button and a mic on the back, simply press the button to answer a call or end one.You can download the "smartkey" app which allows you to customise the function of the button (skip to previous/next track/play/pause etc). This works on Android 4.0 and above, and on Xperia phones. The multi function button also works on iphones via multiple presses ie single or double press.The phones have 30mm neodymium drivers, and a respectable 10–24,000Hz frequency rangeQuick summary of good and badGood:+ Good tonal balance with excellent bass response+ Build is fine for the price feel reasonably well made, cans are fold-able+ Comfy and lightweight I've worn these for hours and they never annoy even longer wearing periods+ Well spread out tonality giving a good feeling of presence+ Multi function button and built in microphone for taking voice callsCons:- Cord length is 1.2m which might be a bit short for some (ie listening to tv, hifi etc)Sound wise these sound a little better balanced than the older model (ZX300), slightly brighter in the mids and highs. Bass is very good for a budget set of cans, with nice depth and good sound-stage. These sound a lot better than you expect in this price range and are a good choice for budget phones which are light, sound good and very portable.These cost a little more than the normal ZX310 headphones, but you get the built in microphone and control button which could be useful. Sound wise very decent and they offer good value for money.
