MADE IN USA! Really it is. And it works perfectly. Go Figure.
Not cheaply made Chinese garbage. It's good, real good. Made in Illinois. That alone you should buy one, leave it in the package and hang onto it as it's going to be worth millions some day. Didn't we offshore the entire US Labor back in the 90's? Leaving us to be a nation of Sellers and Consumers?Ok, back to the item. It works really well. It's not 100% water tight but the pressure and the foam gasket will make it so at the point of connection. I am using it on a 13amp/110v pool pump. If we hardware the pool then the pool needs to be grounded, but in order for us to put a solid ground in we must push 55' of steel rod into the ground. We can't ground it to the house for some reason. So we use an extension cord under the deck, under the stone up to the pool pump. We used a "water tight" Chinese made unit for the last 4 years, replacing it once and sometimes twice a year because... Water would get in and fill up the connector... Offshore manufactures don't have to oblige by their own warranty (seriously folks, read that again when your buying something to TRUST YOUR LIFE WITH let alone spending your money on) - In a nutshell if you build it out of the states (Canada included - Ahem GM) the company is not liable to damages caused by poor engineering or product manufacturing. This however is built very well and right here in the states. We had record rainfall over the weekend (something like 20") and the connector worked perfectly. Didn't blow the breaker or fill with water. Winston Churchill said "all great things have been simple, and all simple things are great". My company philosophy and it follows here as well - simple and works perfectly.I'm buying 4 more just to keep my friends in Il. working. For the first time in a long time I'm pretty sure my $6 was kept in the United States. Weird to think about.

Yep, Worth It!!!
Bought this plug extension cover for an outside electrical plug for my internet node installed on my house. By the other outside plugs and such, there was an external plug on the side of my house. When the install happened, it worked fine. But when tech support came out, they discovered the plug was rusted out and worthless. So, I needed a quick way to run an extension cord from inside the garage out to the internet junction box's power cable. And whoops, wouldn't you know it, my sprinkler system sits just a few feet away. Terrible planning, if you ask me. Anyway, I bought this cover and had it shipped to my house. For weeks now, it's covered the plug and kept them both completely dry. It's been soaked by rain, hosed by sprinklers, and probably had the dog pee on it. No problems! So, yes, I'd recommend this thing to literally anyone that needs to keep a plug protected and working out in the elements.

Absolutely not waterproof, but it is weather resistant
This cord connector/lock is definitely not waterproof. The 2 halves screw together and there's plenty of room for water to get in/through, HOWEVER, if you put your cords in this, screw it together, and keep it level and out of any low points/mud/running water, it is likely to keep most of the moisture out, and it does lock the connection together, and they provide a foam rubber gasket to go between the power connection as well.We used this to connect a water trough heater to a heavy duty extension cord. I put a rock underneath the connector and then covered the whole thing just to try to keep any rain out, and everything stayed dry. Works well enough I'll continue to use these/get more as we need addition outdoor power connections. Would be nice if there was a "larger" style for bigger plugs, but this works for normal extension cord connections.

This appears to be working well
This is the first winter I've used this and so far it seems to be working. During the winter months I keep a heated bird bath out for my birds and wildlife, and the cord on the birdbath is very short, so I have to use an extension cord to reach the outlet. We live in the north and have to worry about snow and ice, so I can't just leave a connection laying on the ground as it could short out. In the past I've put the plug through heavy plastic bags, then used electrical tape to seal the openings; not pretty but it worked but it was a pain to take apart in the spring or of there was a problem. This year I happened across this product and bought it. The two ends of the plug fit nicely into this casing and the whole thing closes up nicely. It's not 100% waterproof as there are small openings at each end where the cords enter, but it does provide protection for the plugs. I've made sure I have it propped up on rocks so it's not right on the ground, that way if there is standing water from heavy rains or melting snow, it won't be laying in the water. I could use electrical tape to seal the ends but right now I don't see a need for that. It's a nice little case and so far it seems to be working well for me.
