C0402WM 20pcs Pre-soldered Micro 0.1mm Copper Wired Warm White SMD Led 0402

Quality of this is excellent, the LEDs are bright and the color coded enameled wire makes this easy to work with.

I used them light a Santa Fe Pleasure dome, I used 2 of them under the dome roof and the wires were hidden between the glass. They worked great, but they delicate to work with due to their small size. I got a little rough with one and broke one of the wires off.

Tiny but very bright.

They didn't work.

The wire appears to be single strand thin copper (coated aluminum?) with a very thin lacquer insulating coating. It doesn’t have a strippable insulation, but I used an exacto knife to scrape the very ends and solder a 1000ohm resistor to the short end (cathode side which takes the negative connection from power), then soldered the red end (positive) of a 1.25 mm female JST to the long wire and the black to the resistor. Tested using model RR powerpack and it lights up from 3V to 18V as expected. I’m guessing i can solder to the ends of the wires without scraping the lacquer off and anticipate the lacquer would just burn off under high heat, but it would be nice to have instructions saying this would work. Doesn’t look like it burned off when testing the near dnds with a continuity meter. I previously bought Evermodel T0402WM-20 for $18 which had a clear insulation that can be seen and stripped to desired length and had 5-7 strand aluminum wire. This is less expensive than the other, but the other one is easier to know just how much wire is exposed for making connections. I’m using these for Model RR lighting.
