Works great! Love the multifunction tools
This is a great product, from manual to timer and the brightness levels it works great. It definitely saves me for days I wake up late and come back home too late for the set 8 hours. Also, love the sunrise and sunset that you can emulate with this for the plants. The only issue I had was with my Twinstar 360E the fit was too tight, I really had to jam it in carefully (not sure I can remove it without damaging the input now but easily replaceable if it does). Other than that, it fits great on my other light, I definitely recommend this one!

Very happy!
The directions aren't the best but once I figured out how to set it, this is going to be very nice addition to my aquarium. I have it set to start brightening the lights at 5:00am and to be at full brightness at 8:00am. At 8:00pm it starts to dim until fully dark at 11:00pm. I did 5 min test intervals to make sure it worked before setting. Now it's set and at 8:30pm it was at 85/100 brightness. If all continues as planned, at 11:00pm it'll be at 0/100 and completely lights out. At this point I'd highly recommend!Update: I've been using this dimmer for 8 months now and it's still going strong. Our area was hit by a tornado several months back resulting in a 3 day power outage... when the power came back on this dimmer kicked back on like nothing had ever happened. At some point it has lost the correct time (maybe during the 3 day power outage?)...I noticed a few months ago it's about 15 minutes behind. No matter, I'm still very pleased with this timer and still highly recommend!

Aquarium LED Light Timer/Dimmer Choices
Like many, I looked for a simple LED light controller to emulate sunrise and sunset functions to avoid startling the fish from abrupt on/off lighting. There are several aquarium LED light controllers on the market. I used the NICREW single channel LED light controller for years without problem, except that I have to reset the clock if there is a power outage. I bought this more expensive S2-PRO controller mainly because it claims to remember its current time setting during a power interruption. Both the S2-PRO and the NICREW controllers work as intended after spending time to figure out the programming (as pointed out by other, product reviews and YouTube videos help). Both controllers can easily support 2 full ramp up and down cycles that I prefer; one short cycle for feeding in the morning and the main cycle for plants and viewing. I only have the S2-PRO for a short time so can't speak for its reliability. Here are some of the pros and cons as I see itS2-PRO Pros:* Keeps current time setting during brief power outage* Flexible rate of sunrise and sunset by spacing out the time pointsS2-PRO Cons:* Almost twice the price* Very poor instructions (on a 2"x3.5" card)* Little to no supportNICREW Pros:* Reasonable price* Full instruction manual with programming examples* Good tech supportNICREW Cons:* Need to reset the clock if the power goes out, just like your microwave;)* Limited (15 min/30 min) ramp up and down rate if that is a concern

Killed my light
Despite my light fitting all requirements for this device, once I plugged it in it destroyed my light. The unit’s display flashed a few times and now my light doesn’t work at all. Had to be replaced.Do not trust or buy this device.

Works as intended after much tweaking
First, let me just say that the naked eye won't notice the dimming at high percentages. Keep that in mind. It's very subtle, as it should be. Works very well once you get your schedule down on paper first. Some things of note: 1. Write your schedule down on paper. 2. Off times and any other times you want to remain constant need to have back to back settings, otherwise it will slowly ramp throughout the day, though you won't notice it much. 3. Have your light at 100 if it is dimmable. 4. 24-hr time (Army time). To simulate a natural photoperiod:1. 5:00 - 02. 6:00 - 5 (Keep it low here if it's turning on in a dark room. It ramps smoothly to the next time.)3. 10:00 - 604. 12:00 - 1005. 14:00 (2 pm) - 606. 18:00 (6 pm) - 0 (no need to put a low number here since the ramp down is very smooth over the hours.)You can add 2 extra slots in there if you, say, want 100% for a block of hours before dimming again.I am using mine with an ONF flat Nano on a 6 gal long UNS, which is very shallow and has low light plants, so I keep it very low 20-40-20 for the 10-2 time period. I tried the Nicrew, but it didn't like the ONF light.

Great dimmer. Updated version!
Okay, so of the bat this little guy is great. Set up was simple enough but the manual instructions were confusing AF! Definitely check out the YouTube video on it before setting up timer.I'm on my third day using this product, and yesterday I've noticed it turned on earlier then expected. I've set it up to turn on at 6am with 5% light level and when I woked it was already on.. and this morning it happened again. Not sure what's going on but for tomorrow use, I've change the set up to 730am just to see how early does the timer will turn on from the automatic set up.Will post update later...Updated... Make sure you set the 1st and last node to 0% on the light level. This will prevent the device from turning ON in the middle of the night..
