Derwent Alphacolor Soft Square Pastels, Earth Tones, 12 Pastels per Set (145011)

Perfect for weathering models. I just rub my paintbrush across the color chalk and layer onto the model. Very easy to mix colors. Perfect for making dirt look on dark model tanks. You can also use the reddish chalk along with brown panel line marker to create great looking rust effects that will not rub off.

Works well for making your own pigments. Its not as intense as the name brand stuff but still works really well.I ground up the pastels in a sandwich baggie with a rolling pin. I transferred the power into some small clear plastic contains I found at the dollar store.No complaints.

I am grinding the pastels to make weathering powders for use on miniatures. They work well and save me a considerable expense over buying pre-ground products. I would recommend these for anyone with similar needs.

I’m very happy the product arrive and I tested the colors and wow!! It did felt different but in all the colors were exactly what I was looking for so I’m happy. Can’t wait to use them for my art class.

I've never used Soft pastels before but the experience was definitely a eye opener! The Quality of the pastels were perfect in my opinion and strong. So strong that they survived being shoved about and being out of the package by the time they reached my door. Why they needed a HUGE box to ship a tiny package is beyond me...but they did. That is the only reason why i am giving a 4.

When you get them. Take a towel and wet it then draped over the open package for an hour. The pastels will likely be very dried out and some broken.
