Sony CR2032 3V Lithium 2032 Coin Battery, 5 Pack

My strategy is similar to most everyone elses': to find the balance between cost and value in buying anything...mindful of a good return policy. These batteries fit those criteria when I bought them, (but DO check out the Maxell 3V batteries as well). The Sony 2032's work fine and they're a good value. There is a space for a "use-by date" on these batteries but no date (I don't know as Maxell even has a space for the date). But, like just about every battery you have bought or will buy, there are no guarantees. I've unknowingly purchased dead batteries just like everyone else. But, most batteries are reliable, even though battery life-span can vary wildly. And, there's the issue: without digging too far into cyberspace, how do you know the life-span of the battery before you buy it? You really don't unless there's evidence of leakage or deformity. Sometimes the 'use by' dates in the retail world mean something. For me, most often they mean a cheaper price for 'out-of-date' stuff. I've never trusted those dates anyway.

These batteries are fantastic. I have a Ring system with more than 50 sensors, so I end up replacing over 100 batteries at least once a year. With most of the major brands, the packaging is a huge hassle because each battery is sealed behind multiple layers of hard plastic. When you are changing that many batteries, opening the packaging becomes an exhausting job all by itself. These Sony batteries are much easier to access, which makes the whole replacement process much faster, easier, and a lot less frustrating. The only downside is safety. Because they are easier to open, they may not be the best choice for homes with small children or pets. If that applies to you, you may want to choose a brand with more child-resistant packaging instead.

CR2032s are one of those things you never think about until you suddenly need one — a dead key fob, a scale that won't turn on, a thermostat flashing low battery. Having a strip of five genuine Sony ones on hand has saved me more than a couple of headaches. These are genuine Sony cells, not knockoffs, and that matters more than people realize with coin batteries. The voltage holds steady, they fit perfectly in every device I've used them in, and none of the five arrived dead or undercharged — which has happened to me with cheaper no-name packs in the past. For key fobs, remotes, and small electronics, they've performed exactly as expected. The only reason I'm leaving four stars instead of five is that a strip of five can feel a little light on value depending on the per-unit price at the time of purchase. If you catch them at a good price they're a no-brainer; if the price has crept up, a larger bulk pack might stretch your dollar further. That said — the batteries themselves are excellent, the Sony name is trustworthy, and "freshly packed" isn't just marketing speak; the expiration dates on mine were well out. Would buy again.

I bought these batteries to replace the dead battery in the key fob to my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. This is compatible with the key fob for any Pontiac Sunfire between the years 2000 and 2005, and also compatible with many other Pontiac/GM vehicle key fobs as well. The batteries came with an expiration date of 2028, so I'm not worried about them going bad before I can use them. I bet if they're stored in a fridge they could last even longer. If you're not sure whether this battery will work for your car's key fob, I recommend you google your car's make, model, and year with the words "key fob battery" (e.g. pontiac sunfire 2005 key fob battery), which will should return plenty of results telling you the correct battery to use. I've had one of these batteries in my key fob since February (about 6 months ago) and it's still got as good of a range as the first day I put it in. When my car's sitting in the parking lot, I can lock/unlock it from my second story window about 40-50 feet away. This is great if I need to carry a bunch of groceries upstairs and don't want to have to fumble around with my keys while holding a ton of bags. I can just carry everything upstairs then lock my car from inside once I've set the grocery bags down. This five pack is about the same price as getting a single one of these batteries at the local battery/accessory store in my town, so it's definitely worth the wait. I have Prime, so these came in just two days to my doorstep. I can't comment on the shipping time if you order without Prime, though.

I bought this set of battery to replace the ones found on my 3D glasses and a small pedometer. So far, I can't really complain. They have been working as expected. The battery indicator for both the glasses and the pedometer show that the battery was full when i put them in. I have barely used the 3D glasses but the have used the pedometer every single day for a month. The battery if not even half full. Consider this set of 5 batteries costed me less that $3 dollars with free shipping I consider it an excellent value for low power equipment. When i went to Walgreens to find a similar battery the price was $6 dollars for ONE Energizer battery. Now, i am sure that one was better but i could buy 10 of these generic brand for the price of one of those. It seems like a pretty good deal. I recommend it.
