So far so good, still in the "breaking in" process so I haven't had a chance to really push them. They seem light so i thought they would be cheap when i pulled them out of the box. But so far I'm impressed, i have them wired up to an Autotek MM1150.2. Pushing about 600 watts RMS to these guys and seem to be doing very well. For the price I don't think you can go wrong... I wouldn't say these are high end but I wanted something more than my stock sound without breaking the bank. Should anything change i will update. UPDATE! Been 6 months since installing these and I have been beating these things. Good clean sound. Don't think I have the gain passed half way and can feel the bass in my chest. I have them in a ported box . Only complaint is I don't get DEEP bass... not sure if its the subs or because they are 10s. Also running these on a stock stereo. Hope this helps someone. For all those who gave these a one star I would say check your wiring and ensure you have the correct OHMS.

I have tried to match perimeters to best of my ability
affordable, durable, compatible. I am using these on a speaker formula, as I cannot afford what I desire. My project starts with cv ls-10 crossovers, American acoustic cabs, 3 way. I am converting with these subwoofers, xp-104 5' sealed midrange, peerless silk domes. I have tried to match perimeters to best of my ability, for the conversion. my decibels are still not exact, but close. my resistance is not exact but close. my total investment. cabs, 40.00, mids 22.00, subs 47.00, tweeters 36.00, crossovers 22.00, For a 167.00 investment and labor, compared to a thousand dollar investment, I think that I have done very well. oh they measured 3.6, even on both. I know my methods to all the professional are primitive, as I do not have the complex mathematical skills that are required. I have done a ton of specification, and perimeter research. All I can do now is work with the haas effect. I am going 4 ohm sub, 4 ohm mid, 6.4 tweet, with cv crossovers. this will be a home setup. I am looking for a setup that wont put a load on amplifier, but will achieve sonic linearity, with solid bass. Went 8 ohms in past did not work for me. Like low volume, with high output. thank you also amazon, for the excellent service. They were double boxed together, with excellent packing. you have made this affordable for me, so I can continue my project. thank you again.

Can't go wrong
I hesitated to buy these at first, even though I didn't want to spend more money than these cost. My main reluctance was that the magnet size was smaller than the Fosgate subs I was replacing. However, once I got them mounted in the custom enclosure I had build for the Fosgate's - which was an exact fit needing no modifications - and hooked up to the existing amp, I was very happy with their sound. They have a good punch to them, basically the same as the Fosgate's. There might be reasons not to spend $30 on a subwoofer, but after using these, I sure can't think of any.

Sounded great... until it blew
I purchased three of these subs and of the three, two blew in the first week. I really wanted to like this subwoofer, especially for the money, but they're just not well made. True, they sounded nice at first, but within a week (during the "break-in" period where we kept the volume to less than half) two of them just stopped working. The first one, you could literally feel that the voice coil had come apart. It was literally grinding when you would flex the speaker cone manually. With the second one that blew, the cone literally separated from the spider. I mean it completely detached, wires and all! I was so disappointed that I sent the other one back without ever even hooking it up. If you're looking for a cheap subwoofer, steer clear of these. I do want to note, however, that the SSL 4 channel amplifier that I purchased is very well built and is working wonderfully. So, SSL doesn't make bad products per say, but this cheap sub was just not good.

Fantastic sound, and value
So I have a 1200w mono block 4ohm amp, I built single box with 2 separate chambers. To people saying these don't hit hard... they didn't either build a box correctly or setup properly. These things BOOM! Incredible production in bass for especially considering the price. Would definitely purchase these and other size speakers from SSL. Very happy

Good 9" subwoofer, not 10" as discribed
Would have given this 5 stars if it was a true 10" sub. This is actually a 9" subwoofer. Had to do some modifications to make it fit. With that it actually is an amazing sub that hits hard. I have just the one and it fills my living room with bass. It's hooked up to 120 watt amp plate as my home theater sub in my modified speaker box.

Appears to be good. Haven't tried them yet.
I haven't actually used this yet but am a long time woofer designer and at first look they seem surprisingly well built. They come with templates and recommended box volume and dimensions. They are not DVC so if you hook them up right out of a modern receiver, the mono bass out will be fine. I am Bi-amping with a 2 channel amp and the amp is not bridgeable. this means you can only use the left or right channel and loose half the power potential. So I bought a second one and will either combine two in a separated double box, build two boxes for two locations within the room. One more radical choice is to use an isobaric "clamshell" configuration, which cuts the box dimension in half due to the effect on the VAS. (I f you try this make sure to wire the speakers out of phase (-+/+-) to make sure the cones move the same direction). That technical jargon is unnecessary for a general review, which is "They look good and durable. Follow the recommended box description and I think you'll have a nice booming subwoofer.

Great product for the price...I was sceptical at first to replace my 1996 home hi-fi subwoofer speaker ( suspension was cracked and dried up with time) it fits perfectly and sounds fantastic now! Break in period is needed to low-medium volume before adding more power (24-48 hours playing) this is requierd for long term reliability. since it's desing for sub-woofer application, do not use it to replace a woofer in a home stereo towers speakers; low frequency is not the same.
