Hill's Science Diet Light , Adult 1-6, Small & Mini Breeds Weight Management Support, Dry Dog Food, Chicken & Barley, 15.5 lb Bag

I was using another brand and my vet wasn’t real positive on the brand I was using. I did some research and switched to Hill’s and my dog loves it and seems more playful and healthy overall.

We have a smaller family dog that is a chihuahua/boston terrier mix and she went through a bad period where she wouldn't eat just about any food we tried to give her. To make matters worse when she would eat it would often make her sick to the point we weren't really sure she was getting enough food. At the same time she had to be eating something because she got a little heavy for her size. After trying probably 5 or 6 brands and types we finally tried this and it has worked out very well.Each piece is about the size of a lentil instead of a large gumball which is the standard size for many foods. It also has a lot of vitamins and nutrients so she doesn't seem to need to eat as much because it is more filling while at the same time it is lower in calories than many dog foods to help maintain her weight a little better. The best part though is that she really likes it and it doesn't make her sick the way nearly everything else seemed to.The price here was just as good as any retail store where we could find it and it is delivered right to our door. If everything keeps going well it is likely that we will set it up for subscription so it just arrives at the same time each month or two and we can save a little more on it. I would tell you though that even if you can find less expensive foods you aren't saving much if it makes your dog sick and you end up having to take them to the vet or clean your carpet every other day.

Add wet toppers for meal & it makes them eager to eat meals.

I bought this for my fat chihuahua who would have recurrent anal gland blockage. It definitely helps with the anal glands and weight loss. I’m able to give him a larger portion of food with less calories.He doesn’t seem to be too thrilled about the flavor though so I mix water and whatever I have (like bananas, peanut butter, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, etc) in my nutribullet and pour it over the food and then he can’t tell the difference.My other dogs don’t have a problem with the flavor and all these fatties have been losing weight too.

The elderly 12 lb. Poodle I inherited needs to lose a bit more weight. She is supposed to weigh about 10 lbs. She has lost 4 lbs. over the year that I've had her. I wanted to buy the old girl a quality food with a good reputation. It costs about 52 cents per pound higher than the store brand I was buying. I got tired of adding green beans to her store brand kibble to keep her satiated. This way she can have more kibble instead of green beans. She had 6 teeth pulled some time ago. She likes this food. She seems to chew some of the pieces, and swallows some whole. The kibble is crunchy without being rock hard. This is the first bag of this that I purchased. Time will tell if she loses weight on this food.So far, so good.
