The Mason Jar Cookie Company Triple Chocolate chip Cookie Mix in a Soft Jar Pouch

This Triple Chocolate Cookie mix by the Mason Cookie Jar Company is convenient and makes it easy to whip up a batch of cookies in about 20 minutes that taste just like homemade cookies from scratch- or perhaps even better. This particular mix comes in a soft pouch with a mason jar design- not an actual mason jar like some of the company's other mixes. The mix just calls for one egg, 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional). Preparation and baking only took me about 20 minutes. I substituted Earth's Balance for butter when I realized my butter in my freezer expired in 2014, and I doubled the vanilla to one teaspoon just because I felt like it. This mix can make 24 cookies, but I made 15 larger sized cookies instead and baked them for 15 minutes (instead of 12 minutes).Despite my modifications, the taste and texture of these cookies came out awesome- lightly crisp on the outside yet chewy in the middle. These cookies are perfect for those who don't bake a lot as they seem practically impossible to mess up. The mix certainly doesn't skimp on the chips- it's loaded with milk, white and semi sweet chocolate chips. These cookies taste super rich and sweet to me, just like traditional homemade toll house cookies (only slightly different because I didn't use real butter) but with a decadent mix of chips. I don't think anyone eating these cookies would think they came from a mix as they definitely taste like they're equal to homemade quality. The mix I received had an expiration date of 10/27/2017, so it would be good for almost a year, and it's a convenient mix to keep on hand.For those with allergies, this mix contains wheat, milk and soy and also has an allergy warning for eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. This cookie mix is labeled "Made in the USA" which I understand means that "all or virtually all" of the content must be of US origin under FTC standards. Pricing information was not provided at the time of my review, so price in no way factors into my rating of this cookie mix.12/20/2016: Once baked, these cookies freeze really well. We froze about half (each wrapped individually) just after they cooled and take them out as desired and microwave each about 25 seconds and it seems fresh out of the oven. I ended up buying a bag of mix as it makes it so easy to whip up a delicious batch of cookies.

The cookie dough itself is great. It made wonderful cookies. But, the advertising is missleading. I had hoped to also receive the jar itself, as I collect them, and I thought this one was really cool. But, the jar was not part of what was received, only the cookie dough. I think your product, the cookie dough, is great. But, the advertising is not quite honest. One of the reasons I was willing to pay the higher price for your product was that I thought I would also get a neat collectible. I won't buy this again, as the cookie dough is not better than other cookie dough I can get other places.

From the picture and the name of this item I expected it to come in a jar. It did not! It came in a plastic and/or foil package that was shaped and printed to look like a jar. So it looked like the picture but it was actually a nearly flat pouch that you could not see through to see if the contents were even what it showed on the front or if they were layered as pictured. Since it was included in a shower prize basket I never opened it to see what it was like on the inside. I was definitely disappointed that it did not come in a Mason jar.

They were good but it came in a bag and I thought it was coming in a cool looking jar.

I got this as a gift from a student. They were quick and easy. I loved that I didn't have to measure! They tasted great. That one was in a jar! I order here and it did come in a pouch. No big deal, but unlike the jar all the ingredients were mixed together. Which I would expect, but it really doesn't look like there is any brown sugar in it. We will see... they are going in the oven now.

Don't be fooled by the image -- this product DOES NOT COME IN A MASON JAR. I was hoping to receive a mason jar filled with ingredients, as pictured, but I guess I didn't read the product description carefully enough, because this is just a PLASTIC POUCH like a CAPRI SUN.If your company is called the "Mason Jar Cookie Company," wouldn't you think that the ingredients would come in a MASON JAR?!?!?

For all you chocolate lovers out there this cookie mix is a wonderful chocolate creation. The product came fresh and sealed in the pouch as described. Great tasting cookies after being prepared as per the directions.

Haven't made them yet, but I will soon. LOVE cookies right out of the oven!
