A red-haired princess loses her family and her kingdom… Now she must rise and fight for her throne! Princess Yona lives an ideal life as the only princess of her kingdom. Doted on by her father, the king, and protected by her faithful guard Hak, she cherishes the time spent with the man she loves, Su-won. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when tragedy strikes her family! When Su-won hears of Riri’s abduction, he launches surprise attacks on Sei fortresses in an attempt to save her. Meanwhile, Riri leaves Yona in a forest in order to lure Sei troops away from her. Will Riri escape capture and execution? Review: Love it! - Absolutely love this series!! Review: SO AMAZING MUST READ - I absolutely love this series, I just purchased 1-40 because I could finally do so and it is so worth it! The anime really just gives you a teaser about the grand scheme of whats going on and the volumes just build on it. Its filled with moments that have made me laugh, cry, and want to throw my book across the room haha! The characters are so well done and how they deal with all the complexities in the story is amazing and I cannot wait to purchase the new volumes as they get translated. (I plan on leaving this review on as many volumes as desertcart lets me)

best series
This series is so wonderful. Intense story line, interspersed with levity and friendship. There are also some historical notes! The artwork is lovely as well! I have been reading this series from my school library. I was impatient waiting, their was a line of people before me to read this volume, so I bought it. Worth every cent!

One of my favorite volumes in the series
I've always loved this volume. Volume 21 is chalk-full of subtle character development and provides readers a little further insight into various relationships between characters. We get a perfect example of the powerful bond Hak and Su-won once (and still) shared, Lili (or Riri, in the official translation) maintaining her newfound strength and resolve, Yona gradually coming to understand a certain "feeling" that's been growing inside her...and a bunch more! Definitely one of my favs!

Book Arrived Great But…
(The book i received is on the right to show the discoloration compared to one of my own books that is not discolored.) The book arrived in a good condition - although from the side to the top it’s yellow and it’s noticeable. It bothers me because I have plenty of other books but none like this. Normally you would expect a book for it to come in it’s best, “new” condition. It’s like they left it out for awhile then shipped it. :(
