Nice easy upgrade look/lock
This being my second jeep, I try to keep mod costs low this time around. This won’t break the bank and it’s a simple install. I probably wouldn’t have purchased had I not lost the OEM locking gas cap. Kept reminding myself to secure the cap cable but after putting it off, ended up breaking, and I eventually got into a bad habit of not replacing the cap after fueling up.Inherently, that habit left me with a gaping non-locking tank for about a week. No issues. No one stole my gas. However like most things, it was just a matter of time for someone to hamper with it. Also it was quite incomplete and unattractive on the jeep. This replacement not only looks great but is a simple install. Took all of 10 minutes maybe less, but I was being particular about my torque screws. I actually decided to re-use the oem screw to secure the new housing inside vs. the Phillip screws that come with it. Just feels more robust and a nice blend of old and new housing. Hope this review helps. Other reviews helped me so I’m paying it forward.

Should've Bought Sooner
I've been wanting one of these for a while but couldn't justify it. Well I have started doing somethings to my 02 TJ and with gas prices so volatile I figured why not. I've looked at several of the recognizable names but wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money. I'm glad I didn't. I was so impressed by the quality and function. So you remove the old one, snap this in and attach with the provided screws to the gas tank neck. Took less than 5 minutes. This fuel cover is awesome. So it is a powdercoated metal and the lid has a spring on it. Why is the spring important? Well if you forget to lock it back then the lid won't be flying open. It seems to be of high quality and when I compared to those higher priced it is comparable.Final thoughts, if you are locking for a locking fuel tank cover then this is the kne you want. It's easy to install, high quality and not overpriced.

Perfect fitment
All it took was the removal of the 4 screws on the OEM part and the replacement lined up perfectly. I was hesitant about this purchase because the reviews complained about a gap between the body and the part. The swap took 5 minutes of my time and I think it significantly improved the look of my TJ. I opted for this product, instead of the same part without the locking flap, because customers stated that version fluttered in the wind. I'm also happy to see that the new part was all metal, replacing a plastic OEM part. I'm very pleased with this purchase because of the price point and ease of installation.

2004 TJ Needs some modifying
So first off, it was a tight fit. There are 3 plastic clip that are supposed to hold it to your fender body. Mine were so tight, it was hard to get on or off. The top clip would not even engage due to the roll bar connection to the rear quarter panel. Second: the filler neck was a little too high and pushed against the plastic 'bucket'. I loosened the filler neck clamp and pushed it down on the hose some more. That seemed to solve the problem of it fitting flush. Third: I wasn't happy with just the plastic clips holding this thing to the fender, so I snapped them all off with a large screwdriver. Then I took a soldering iron and heated up the riv-nuts that were embedded in the plastic. They hold the "decorative" bolts in place. This gave me a straight shot hole through the entire assembly. I drilled out the 4 existing screw holes in the body and the bottom locating hole to 15/64" and inserted 10/32 sheet metal riv-nuts into the panel. I then took 5 stainless 10/32 x 1-1/8 socket cap screws and bolted the thing on using the original holes, except for the very top one. That is still decoration. Now it fits tight to the jeep with a solid mounting. I did have to file out the original hole a little bit using a half-round file on the left side to make room for the hinge. I used the original filler neck screws instead of the ones provided. Double checking, the original fuel filler bucket will still fit, just with 10/32 screws instead of the original sheet metal screws. Over-all I am pleased. *riv-nuts and ss socket caps can be ordered through McMaster-Carr

Easy install
A little flimsy but looks good note: The plastic insert I took off had four outside screws holding it to the body four inside screws holding it to the neck of the filler tube replacement part has four holes lining up with the filler tube After that you just snap it in place on the body of the Jeep do not remove the outer screws it just pops into place a little force and it will snap in the old one has 4 holes the new one has 6 don’t remove the six screws they are only for looks snaps in with the screws already in

Does not work on 2004 Jeep TJ. Garbage design and material.
Does not fit 2004 Jeep TJ. When you tighten it down flush (as it is supposed to be), the the hinge snaps and it is ruined. I had to clean up my OEM and put it back on. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!. You'd be better off leaving your OEM on the vehicle and buying a cheap locking gas cap. That's what I did. It's actually more secure because even if this product worked, it could easily be pried off with a screw driver. Not so with the gas cap. So..... twenty five dollar lesson learned. I was so disgusted with myself that I didn't even try to get a refund. I felt like the pain will make the lesson stick. Some days later, the company saw my review and reached out to me. They offered to refund half of my money since they didn't see the wretched refuge that remained. I agreed. So at least the company understands good customer service. I do appreciate that. I suggested they change the description. They said they would look into it.

Solid Build
Easy installation and a solid build. Will say, the directions were less than straight forward.Had my taking out unnecessary bolts and wasting some time.Overall, since it was figured out, I'm not the least bit regretful of my purchase. Really tied my aftermarket fenders together but most importantly, added a barrier to my fuel cap.Worth the price.
