The product is excellent: dissolves easily and works well in all relevant recipes. But I give it 4 starsinstead of 5 because they have changed the packaging in a way that reduces the value. The packaging for years was in straight-sided tubes that were easy to access all the way to the bottom with a standard plastic measuring spoon or the enclosed plastic scoop. The new packagin is a jar that narrows at the top into a sharp-edged lip that will barely accommodate a small-medium sized woman's hand. You could not reach to the bottom with the scoop unless you put your hand in and even those who can get their hand in should beware of the sharp edge on the lip. Please return to previous packaging!

We live in the country. It is a 20 minute drive one way to the nearest grocery store. I like to keep these powdered milks on hand. They taste just like regular milk. I can not taste a difference. We use this milk for cereal all the time. I have used it for cooking mixing it with hot pasta for Mac and Cheese. It has no problems dissolving in both hot and cold. It is never gritty. You get a lot of milk for the price. It is easy to make. Just add water. The expiration date was well beyond what it will take for us to use all the product. Overall a great option for people who don’t use enough milk to justify having a gallon in the fridge. We will likely put this on a subscription for our family. It is a great product for a great price.

Carnation instant skim milk has a better taste than other brands. It dissolves easily. I made a quart for the weekend when I run out of Skim Milk during the week. At first I wasn't sure of the taste, but I gave it a tried and pour some into a bowl of cereal. I like it.

Noting that they changed packaging. Instead of the sturdy reliable traditional Carnation cardboard canister, this arrived in plastic jars with screw-on lids. I'm not happy with that.Still it's a great reliable product. We add dry milk powder to bread doughs to boost nutrition & we use reconstituted milk to make creamy soups, casseroles, desserts.Product received with expiration date 11 mos from date of my purchase which is fine for our needs.
