Stop Making Sense Tour

Perfect starter album for a Talking Heads fan, has a few well knowns as well as other underrated "bangers".

I had not heard this before purchasing this vinyl and I was hoping it would sound somewhat different from the Stop Making Sense album, but it is essentially the same. The same sound and same mixes of songs from the movie/album. My first thought was why does this exist when we have Stop Making Sense Special New Edition, but that album is not available on vinyl. If you want most of the songs from Stop Making Sense on vinyl then this is a great option. Not all the songs are here, but most are and the quality of this pressing is good. It's best features are the beautiful transparent red color of the records and that the bass seems to come through better on this recording for some reason. Crosseyed and Painless is actually listenable here.

Only reason I'm giving it 5 stars instead of 6 is because it doesn't have the titular lyric of the tour. I guess the band felt that Milwaukee didn't deserve to hear it, which is where this recording was made. Otherwise, it's a solid record to add to your collection if you're a fan.

bought this in vinyl for my nephew's album collection! He's into vinyl!! My unbelievable collection was so scratched you couldn't even play anymore . Anyway this was my ski jam on my walkman!! lol My dog isn't a fan of "Psycho Killer " but I think he's more into Cat Stevens! lol

Bin sehr positiv überrascht von der Qualität der Aufnahme und Pressung. Sehr schöne Konzertaufnahme. Ist aber NICHT die Musik von dem Konzertfilm. Das finde ich sogar sehr gut das das so ist. Im August 2023 kommt die Musik von dem Film als Neuauflage auf Vinyl raus.

Sound quality of this 2 record set is great. I love the Talking Heads but finding records that don't cost an arm and a leg is hard. This fits the bill and is a good alternative if you want many of the classic Heads songs. Both records are quiet (very few pops and crackles) and warp free

Für jeden Talking Heads Fan ist diese Doppel LP eine Bereicherung.Es handelt sich um einen sehr gelungenen Radiomitschnitt von Westwood One - live in Milwaukee 1984.Der Sound ist klar. Kein Rauschen oder Störgeräusche.Die Pressung meiner LPs ist auch fehlerfrei - trotz unofficial release.Nur die Mischung ist etwas ungewöhnlich. Die Stimme von David Byrne tritt deutlich in den Vordergrund. Man hat dadurch die Gelegenheit alle Facetten seines Gesangs zu genießen. Bass und Gitarre sind leicht im Hintergrund und dadurch nicht so druckvoll wie auf anderen Aufnahmen.Aber dafür vermittelt diese Aufnahme eine sehr intime Atmosphäre und macht viel Spaß - auch wegen einiger musikalischer "Fehler", die sich eingeschlichen haben. Mir gefällt diese LP sogar besser als die offizielle STOP MAKING SENSE LP von damals, die mir zu mainstreamig produziert war.

ACHTUNG: nicht das Konzert vom Film!es ist zwar auf der Tour aufgenommen, aber es handelt sich nicht um den Soundtrack des gleichnamigen Films!ist auch color-vinyl...darauf wird nicht hingewiesen!
