Elite Surf Rod by Tsunami

Excellent rod...Hands down top quality

What can I say? This rod has easily become one of my favorite rods for surf and jetty fishing. Since I received this rod, I have already caught a ton of fish with it! The TSAWESS-962M has a sensitive tip with plenty of backbone. Just pair it up with a 4000 series reel and you are good to go. Will definitely be looking at other Tsunami Airwave Elite rods.

I get to surf fish one week every two years during a family trip to Nantucket. For this year’s trip, I decided to replace one of the old Lacroix tods with the Tsunami Airwave Elite (9.6). The very first cast using a 2 ounce Hopkins and the longer section of the rod snapped near the tip. I have to believe this was just bad luck and a manufacturing defect. In any case, now I have to rent a rod or buy from a local shop which has limited options and very expensive. I was hoping to speak with someone at the retailer but they’re closed until tomorrow. Anyway, stuff happens but this review will be updated when/if I can get the seller to replace in a timely fashion.

A little stiffer than I expected - so it doesn't load for casting with something like SP Minnow, The joint is weird - with the unfinished end sticking out of the sleeve about 1 1/2", followed by a brown section in an otherwise black rod. Looks pretty silly. The foregrip is nothing more than criss-crossed lacing epoxied onto the blank. Same for the "grip" behind the reel. Feels like you are holding a pencil. Should have a beefier grip for the money. One last thing, and I knew this before I bought it, the break is 70/30 so the rod broken down is still 83 inches, and barely fits in my Subaru Forrester. It juts between the two front seats - waiting for the tip to get broken. Balance is okay - I guess - can't really tell with the grips being so thin - it is an unnatural feel already. I have it Paired with a Shimano Sustain 6000FD.Fullfillment by Fisherman's Source was fantastic - got it 4 days early!

I got this rod for the jetty with fast running current. Fishing for snook in Sebastian inlet fl. First thing I noticed is how slim this rod is. Dont let that fool you because it has alot of back bone . I lift up Jack and blue for the pier which is about 10 feet high. Got the 9 '6 pair up with the new saragosa 6000 . This set up cast a mile . I can thow bomber far. Love this rod .best bang for the buck. My brother in law has the same rod . He absolutely loves it

Quality and performance is there. I would not even think twice- just buy it. I got the 9.6 no regrets- will be getting the 11 footer for next Spring!

Great so far. Still no stripers or bluefish to test it out, but should be just fine. Only been out once. Paired with a Penn Spinfisher V 4500LL, I use 30# braid with 3/4 - 3 ounce lures and can cast a country mile. This rod is VERY light and VERY thin, so it might take some getting used to. Very pleased with this purchase.
