Oenophilia Perfect Wine Decanter, 1 EA

I didn't realize when I bought the carafe/decanter that a normal bottle of red fits in the mouth perfectly. Tip it in and wait for every drop to run out. Hopefully not too many seeds and stems. ;)I am still trying to find a stopper for it. Now I use a plastic cap, but it's tacky. Leaving the wine bottle in there is a no-go. Oh well; have to drink it faster...Oh, One other thing: This decanter is nice. The glass is not thick and it's not heavy. There is a crack in the middle of mine where it was finished from the blowing process. About 3/8" long, I worried that it would propagate and the decanter be ruined. I put a drop of water-thin superglue (cyanoacrylate), on the area and some of it wicked in. Hopefully that will reinforce it, as well.

I have been using this decanter for a few weeks, using it to decant our "Sunday" wine. It performs well and looks good on the dining table.This a good working decanter with large wine surface area for a 750ml bottle. I decant using an aerator unit to aid in the breathing of the wine during the transfer of the wine from the bottle with excellent results.The reason that I knocked off a star is there is an odd air bubble in the glass which is purely cosmetic but might cause concern to some people.Being that we are dealing with a glass vessel, I am sure that it will eventually become damaged and should event occur, I would have no qualms in buying the same unit again.

aesthetically pleasing ...nice very functional shape... one 750ml bottle fills to just the widest part so the optimal amount is exposed to the air .... cheap glass though is my only complaint

Great decanter for the price. We gave this as a gift and they loved it. I also recommend getting a cleaning brush...
