Solid fittings
John Guest fittings are the absolute best. Solid fittings that are easy to use and dont fail often.

Bad part: The 3/8” side was too small and didn’t fit
The 3/8” side was too small and didn’t fit on the part I received. I know that sounds crazy, but I Have many other 3/8” John Guest parts, and they work on my John Guest 3/8” OD tubing but this one has an opening that is too small and can’t fit on the hose.

Its a boring union - boring is good
It is a John Guest reducing union. It works. There is not much to say about it. But perhaps you are new to flexible tubing technology as I once was and needed to solve a problem with my reverse osmosis system. The waste water tubing on the unit is 1/4" in diameter but the drain line adapter is 3/8". I didn't know what I needed until I began to research it. I certainly wanted the drain line plumbed correctly so I don't have future water leakage problems (mold, swollen wood, damaged dry rock, damaged MDF). This little union provides me a secure and water tight junction between the two different sized tubes. Moreover, should I ever have need in the future, I can remove and reuse it.
