I have owned the beard version of Nekmate for a few months now and wanted to give a try to the back version too. I’ve received the product yesterday and immediately put it to use, given that my neck hair was going wild due to all the shops being closed during lockdown! Here is my honest opinion about it. PURPOSE: It absolutely succeeds in serving its purpose. It takes no time to be put in place, and because the red guard is long enough, you can see the two ends which makes it very easy to tell whether it is straight. Once it’s positioned, trimming is so easy and quick. It firmly stays in place, so all you have to do is follow the guard horizontally with your trimmer and the job is done with just a few movements (make sure you go in both directions, up and down,so you go against the grain on both sides). CONSTRUCTION: It’s well made of good quality silicone, so it’s soft and it feels durable too. Because it’s so flexible, it adheres to your skin perfectly and it won’t move once it’s in place. I also love how long the guard is, my head is pretty large and I was worried that the shape might have been too small. However, it is so long that it will fit you no matter how big your head is. COMFORT: I think it’s comfortable. I read several comments regarding the tightness of the band, but I think that the tightness is absolutely perfect for me and really allows me to shave very easily. You definitely don’t want a shaving template to move while you are working with a razor or trimmer in that area. I’d give it 5 stars for comfort honestly. VALUE: It’s a steal for this price. If you think about how much barbers charge nowadays, (if you can even find one that is allowed to be open!) it’s so nice being able to clean up your haircut at home whenever you want to. Works great for the kiddos too! To sum it up, I am very satisfied with my purchase and I can only recommend this product. It’s a must have if you like cut your own hair or freshen up your haircut at home. Unless you go to the barber every week, I honestly believe that you should have one of these.

The price seems a little high for this item, and it’s not the most comfortable thing to wear, but it works. Take your time getting it lined up and you can give yourself a straight, clean-looking neckline. As a newbie at cutting my own hair, the neckline was giving me fits until I came across these templates. This is the only one I’ve tried, and I’m happy with it. The photos show the model wearing it with the strap across his nose or chin, but I use mine with the strap low on my forehead. Still not very comfortable, but to me much better than across my nose or chin. The price does seem high, but it’s less than the cost of a haircut so that makes it a worthwhile investment.

Let me start off the quick recommendation- just buy it. See below for further review. Been cutting my own hair with clippers for 2 years now. And I use to use 2 mirrors, and my phone propped up on the windowsill to take pictures of the back of my head, and then adjust accordingly to the pictures. Needless to say even with all my experience I could never get it right, sure I improved but did not get it perfect or near perfect at all. I then started to look around when the pandemic hit since everyone else was cutting their own hair now, thinking that their might be a product out there to solve this problem of trimming ones own hair. Looked at many different options on the market to use as a guide to trim the back of my head, all cost less than the NEKMATE. However, I decided because of the thickness of the back guide and silicone properties (moldable to head and neck, and won’t move at all once on your neck) to purchase it. I am glad I did. It has worked out well. I use it in the shower with a Mach 3 razor on my neck to trim the back before I use the clippers. The NEKMATE has not moved on me when trimming, it stays in place. For reference I have a small head, a hat size of 7 or just a bit smaller. So for people with larger heads, which is most everyone else I am sure it will work but it will be tighter so a little bit more uncomfortable but you don’t have it on for very long. The NEKMATE is easy to clean and easy to dry off. It’s a quality tool and I expect it to last a very long time. I am very pleased with the purchase even at its price range. It’s worth it. I did have higher expectations for this product. It does as specified, but the tightness of the band is very uncomfortable as it goes across my face, again, very tightly to the point of hurting. I tried relocating the band to a different part of my face, but that changes the height of the band behind the head. I suggest using a velcro strap style fastening. The position of the band can be placed wherever the user wants upon the face and the tension across the face is greatly reduced.

This is the perfect gadget to shave the back of your neck. My head is about average in size and it fits me perfectly; I find it to be comfortable yet stable. Because the elastic band is easy to stretch, it should fit you well regardless of the size of your head. The template is also long, so it will cover your whole neckline. The high quality silicone is thick and flexible, with reliable resistance. It hasn't been damaged by passing over it with my trimmer. The elastic band is very stretchable, but I recommend playing with it a bit when you first take it out of the package so that it increases its elasticity even more and will feel more comfortable when you wear it. It breaks in like a new pair of shoes. Shaving the back of your neck is quick and easy. The template is easy to position, and it stays in place during the whole process. This is the best aspect of the product, as it really gives you a firm guide to follow. It allows you to move and angle your head without changing position. Because you can’t see behind your head, you should make multiple passes with your trimmer to make sure you don't miss any hairs. You can wash it under running water and dry it with a towel. It's very easy to fold up and travel with as well. It’s definitely a great product. The back of my neck is the hardest place to groom without going to a professional hairdresser or barber, which makes this an essential money/time saver and grooming tool. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to achieve a professional and clean appearance simply by grooming at home.

This is an amazing product that is super cheap. This trimmer/neck shaver is super easy to use and produces a perfect neck shave. I also used it to trim my beard and was able to get a clean trim as well. It is super compatible, not too big, not too small, and fit perfectly in my hand. This product is also protective and prevents any cuts on my neck or beard. It's also great for traveling because it is so compatible and can go anywhere. This will definitely be useful on my business trips where looking sharp is an essential. The Red Guard helps with ensuring a perfect trim and is easily worn and taken off. The silicon quality ensures it is flexible and durable. If you're concerned about the guard, it fits perfectly and is custom to each head size. The bands will stretch or shrink according to the size of your head. For this price, this product is really amazing and useful.

What a stupid design. The rubber band directly across the sloping part of the nose won't stay, even if your nose isn't oily at all. Would it have killed them to make a nose piece that could fit around the nose instead? The slick silicone part that goes across the hair on back of your head/neck does nothing to grip - probably the rubber band alone would grip more. Another reviewer mentioned painters tape, and I agree that would be a better option.

One of the thing that bothers me a lot is I was not able to cut my own hair. I can exercise to obtain a good health. I can cook for myself to get the most benefit from vegetables, meats, and grains. In other words, I can control of what foods that my body needs to take in from time to time as I am borderline for my diabetic. However, I can't control how I look with my hair. I want a simple cut for man hair. I really hate to go barbershop because most of the time I have a lot of things to take care at home. I don't want to stop everything just to go to a barbershop to have my hair cut. I bought hair clippers Amazon to cut my own hair. At the beginning, my wife used the set to cut my hair. Then, one day she told "I would rather give you the money to go outside for someone to cut your hair than me cutting your hair". That's it. I am not going to let anyone touching my hair again. I will use the same hair clipper set to cut my own hair from now on. My goal is I will try to cut my hair with a reasonable look. If I make a mistake, the hair will grow back shortly. Next time, I will make it better. But I am very happy that I can cut hair for my self. I have no problem cutting the side and the top. I need help with the back. Thus, I went on amazon to look for a product that can help me to cut my hair on the back. I had checked and read many products and reviews on amazon but I settled for NEKMATE Neckline Shaving Template. Here are what I found: - The band was thick, so it wouldn't interfere with my clipper at it hit the line. After I removed the band, I used the clilpper to go across the line with higher number to make the line more smooth. - The band was tight. You can't wear for a long time. If possible, you should cut the front, top, and the side without using the band first. Save the band for last. When you're ready to cut the neckline, put on the band and finish your hair. It would leave marks on your skin for a little bit but it is tight and you would not be able to move it when you're cutting your hair. - I separate the two pieces and hand-wash with soap after used it. - You will need to practice before clipping your hair. Move your hand up and down to get the right movement before you run with the power. - Use the 3 panels mirrors to check for the proper, even line after you place the template on your head. - Remember you can cut your hair again after 2 or 3 weeks if you're not very happy at the first attempt. In summary, the product itself is simple and serves it purpose. It costs the same amount of money if you pays someone to cut your hair for you. With this purchase, I can use it many times more. I would give it 5 stars, if half of the black ring made with some kind of cushion because with the cushion, the neckline is tight enough to stay input but the front line that wraps around my forehead or my nose wouldn't leave deep marks..

Great for doing you're neckline and getting it trimed up

Facile à positionner et il tient très bien en place, alors il n’y a pas de crainte qu’il se déplace lors du rasage. Il est aussi très épais, alors il y a peu de chance de passer par dessus avec le rasoir. Le seul commentaire négatif pour ma part c’est que l’élastique est quand même très serré ce qui écrase mon nez, j’aurais aimer pouvoir l’ajuster. Mais c’est un produit essentiel pour ceux qui se coupe les cheveux soit-meme.
