I have a Mac mini, for my sins, and the stupid little built in thing that's supposed to produce sound is so laughably inadequate that I generally didn't bother with voice / video calling or much else. Tried a very old Bose Soundlink Mini on which the battery had died, using it plugged in to power, but Dr Bose's cleverness and Apple's bloody-mindedness combined to make it unmanageable.I was wary about buying a pair of speakers for £14, thinking that they might well not be any better that the thing in the Mac mini (I do my normal listening to music / TV etc on a Naim Muso 2nd Generation which is awesome). But, I rationalised, it's Amazon, and if the speakers are no good I can always send them back.Suffice to say they won't be going back. They're really nicely finished and sit unobtrusively on my desk. They look quite swish, actually - the reviewer here who said it's a shame they have the trashy Amazon branding needs to go to Specsavers. Or somewhere that adjusts silly attitudes. The sound is clear and open. No, not much bass and not much punch and they don't really go loud but if you want a speaker pair to do those things you're going to need to look at some much more expensive kit. For video conferencing, phone calls, occasional background music listening, everything you might normally want to do on a desktop pc, these are great. Really good. And did I mention they only cost £14?Nicely played, Amazon.

Another overwhelmingly solid, functional product from amazon "basics"The build quality is solid, product small yet weighty.The sound is phenomenal for such a small set, it is a wired set, maybe there will be a Bluetooth set, I do not know, for me I always prefer solid connections.Their low size males their profile and desk usage minimal, the blue glow they emit isn't strong and though shiny, they don't look cheap.My suggestion for Amazon themselves, remove the inner plastic bags from the product, it isnt necessary, the box provides plenty of protection and stability.

Amazon basics? There’s absolutely nothing basic about these speakers. The value for the money here is astounding!!!! Excellent build quality and sound quality for the price I can’t complain. They are great for monitors and laptops and function like a soundbar with how loud they get.When I say they get loud, they get LOUD it’s like being in a cinema when these are on full blast! There’s no distortion or degradation in quality either which is a genuine surprise.I highly doubt you’ll find anything else this good for that price.

Just buy them how they sell these for this price is beyond me they feel like premium speakers and the sound is very good even at the loudest volume nice and clear not distorted the bass is not great but again it’s enough for monitor speakers well worth the money 👍

Very good value for money. Didn't expect them to sound great but they sound fairly decent. Only issue with them is that they do not have an on / off switch, so the blue lights are always on throughout the night.

I wanted a portable set of speakers for the laptop.They are so good I bought another pair for my PC.OK, they are not 5.1 surround sound, but IGNORE the people who say they don't have a volume control, they haven't LOOKED ,it is inline like headphones.Also adjust your PC graphic equalizer in windows and they sound amazing for anything £50 an under
