Ok on of the round ends measures 14 inches top to bottom, side to side. If I flatten it its the same thing side to side right on the end. Should be the same, 14 inches all the way down with the zipper closed. Awesome bag by the way. Good size for a longer weekend. Throw a pair of shoes in there. A plus.

8-12" depending on how you fill it. I have a 12 person tent, camping tools, camping dishes all stuffed in there. So mine is a bit more wide then tall.
