I purchased the OluKai Upena sandal two months ago. I have been wearing them daily ever since my purchase! I needed a good walking sandal that also looked nice and could be worn with many different outfits. I love these sandals because they can be worn with a dress or any casual outfit. I typically wear cheap sandals but needed a sandal that would give my feet the support they need when traveling. I looked at many pairs of sandals and found that these are the best mix or comfy and cute. There is a thin layer of cushion material over the sole of the shoe. It doesn’t look like much but it really provides great arch support. I wore these sandals on an international vacation where I walked miles daily. My feet did not get sore or tired. I have not yet noticed any wear on my sandals after all the use. The sandals fit true to size. I wear a size 9 and they fit perfectly. There is an adjustable strap in the back with several different holes to close the shoe. The price of this shoe is slightly cheaper than big box retail stores. The only downside I can think of is that the straps are made of leather. I’m not sure how waterproof the shoes are with leather straps. These are my go to summer sandals! I can wear them all day, everyday and my feet still love me! I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and stylish shoe.

Great fit and comfortable!
Great fit for narrow feet!! I always have issues with sandals fitting too loosely because I have narrow feet. These sandals do fit a little tight but for me that’s perfect. They feel very comfortable. They look cute. I’m a size 7.5 US and I bought the size 7. It’s a perfect fit! I wish they were available in black because I would buy them in black too.

Best sandles
I have had these shoes for a year. They are the only flat shoe I can walk in all day. They have a gentle arch that makes such a difference. They are casual but can be a little nicer for restaurants. I especially love the toe and back strap. They wont fly off your feel and for me it makes me feel like I am almost barefoot. My buckle broke this week but I had it replaced at a cobbler because I love these shoes so much.

Arch support in a Cute Sandal
Fit: I normally wear size 7 in sandals, and the 7 fit perfectly. My feet are average to slightly skinny: 3.5" wide (measured by tracing foot on paper and measuring between 2 widest spots), 2" wide at the heel. REI near me was carrying this style, so worth checking if you want to try on in person. I really love this sandal for these reasons: - This has excellent arch support and heel cup for a sandal of this style. The bottom is also more non-skid than most sandals, which are often terrible. -I absolutely love this criss-cross strappy look and fit for sandals. I had a favorite cheap Payless pair that I wore for years, and then searched for years for a replacement, which has been impossible to find till now. It goes with anything, particularly any summer dresses that have black, when you want to wear something that passes with a dress, but be comfortable walking in. My cheap Payless pair had slightly thinner straps, with contrasting white stitching against the black, so they were slightly cuter, but these are still cute, comfy, and versatile. - The cross strap design on the big toe doesn't hurt the toe, like sandals with toe posts can. I can't wear any sandals with a toe-post, but I can wear these. -This pair was feeling slightly tight on my big toe, after wearing a bit when my feet swelled, but a few seconds stretching the leather with my fingers fixed that. Being good quality leather, they conform to your feet nicely. Cons (kind of): - The footbed of the shoe is a solid plastic/ slightly rubbery material, which doesn't breath well, but the upside of that is it is very durable and can be cleaned easily. But since the upper is leather, that limits the versatility of a plastic footbed, where you can get it wet without worry. I don't live where it is very hot, so it is bearable. It has a nice finish, so it feels better against the skin than a lot of plastic/rubbery sandals. (Update: I have since found that sometimes you are in an unexpected situation where your sandals get wet, as in an impromptu visit to the beach with friends. These sandals survived walking in ocean water, though I don't recommend doing it on a regular basis. I do love that the rubbery footbed cleans so easily and does well if it gets unexpectedly wet.) -The arch support and heel cup is nice, but on a thin sole. I think the Vionic Tide flip-flops are a notch higher when it comes to sandal support, that you can wear all day and your feet will feel great. These are dressier, of course. - The price tag at $90 is double what it should be, for what it is, but it's a style I've been searching years for (with arch support thrown in, to boot.)

Great deal on a great Brand
I love the quality, style and comfort of OluKai sandals. The price on these shoes was a real bargain. They are very good looking and have great support. But I have a problem with the buckle closure. It is on the outside edge of the sandal and is not easy for me to reach the buckle. I have to buckle the sandal and then wedge my foot into the sandal and pull up the back strap. They fit snugly so stretching out the back strap should not be a big deal.

Favorite walking sandal
Favorite sandals! Also have them in black. Very comfortable and mold to your feet. Can walk long distances in them and they look nice! Still get complements on the black pair that I’ve had for 6 years now.

Beats Chakos or Tevas in comfort and style.
True to size (I wear 9 to 9.5 and the 9 was perfect). I bought both bronze and pewter and decided to keep the bronze because the dark brown footbed looked a little dressier and more versatile than the black footbed. The bronze looks fantastic, like a blend of boho and classy, with a romper, casual sundress, and even a cotton maxi dress, but not with a nicer-looking dress (although there are some people that do that, I don't think they mix). Very cute; twelve times cuter than those clunky Chakos with the thick soles and giant plastic buckle straps or athletic-looking Tevas (only advantage to those would be if you are wearing them at the lake or somewhere you're going to get them wet and dirty all the time). These are every bit as comfortable as Tevas or Chakos but don't make me look like Bigfoot. Very comfortable footbed; I have average arches and Olukai women's sandals support my feet without digging into the arch. Kept this pair over the Olukai 'Awe'Awe style because on those (which are more strappy) the very front horizontal strap cut into my foot. These Upenas are perfect even after days of wearing them 14 hours at a time, walking up and down hills. I wore them first on a cool day and they were perfect all day, and then (midwest weather) the next day was 20 degrees warmer, so my foot was sweaty and just generally bigger than the day before, and I could tell the straps were a bit tighter, but I'm confident the leather straps will stretch/mold a bit to the contours of my feet.

Favorite everyday sandals!
I've been using this brand of shoes for years and love them! Pros: 1. They are definitely water resistant! I went to school in Florida, and these were always my go-to shoes for walking to class in downpours. I would often have to walk in water that was up to right below my knees, and despite my legs staying wet for a while, my feet were always dry immediately! 2. They are very good quality, and I've gotten them in several different colors that can go along with my everyday clothes. I like that the colors aren't outlandish and go with almost any outfit. They're easy to adjust as well. Cons: 1. While they are easy to adjust, I sometimes have to work to get them through the notch if I need to make them go down or up. 2. While they are comfortable to wear, I do noticed that they tend to pink my big toe sometimes if I keep them on for hours on end. I work weddings, so my feet would get a bit swollen after the hours on my feet. 3. They can sometimes dry out, and I do have to break the straps back in if I haven't worn them in a while, but that's usually on me. They are incredibly lightweight, and I love how small they are when I need to shove them into a suitcase if I'm traveling somewhere. I've been using them for years, and even still wear the same pair that I had my sophomore year of college, which was over four years ago!

Comfortable but fit small
Well-designed, ergonomic sole that conforms to the arch and cups the heel. Can be easily wiped clean of dirt and dust. Straps are genuine leather and stretch slightly with continued wear. Great for day walks, casual evenings out and they pack well for traveling. Recommend sizing up a half size as they fit small. I am a size 7.5 and wear an 8. Not recommended for anyone with wide feet.
