Mary Atwood's Hermetic Philosophy and Alchemy
This is a book that is excellent to try to fathom. It is worth reading again and again for those who want a deeper insight into being and themselves. I found it helpful to read and re-read chapters at a time to carry the information along with me as I read the unknown. The book helped me and I still get much out of meditating on it.

which is brilliant, but rather this edition
The rating is not due to the content of the book, which is brilliant, but rather this edition, which is a disaster. In the first place, the type is tiny, and the book is really a physical chore to read. More importantly, the editing is abysmal. There are tons of typos, and even more frustratingly, duplicated fragments of sentences throughout the text, turning the book into nonsense. I didn't notice it at first, I was just wondering if I had lost all ability to comprehend text. Once I realized the problem was not me, but the fact that the sentences were being lengthened and contorted by duplicate phrases, I found them everywhere. With all of these problems, the text is totally unreliable. This is a total waste of money and should be withdrawn from sale. There is a much better edition found here: A Suggestive Inquiry Into the Hermetic Mystery: With a Dissertation on the More Celebrated of the Alchemical Philosophers, Being an Attempt Towards Experiment of Nature (Classic Reprint)

There is no wise sayin.
Although you talk you do it without second thought. Is it wisdom? And if it is spontaneous? Is it wisdom.Spontaneity has to be cultivated. Wisdom from spontaneity then what? Thanks.
Q**.
Same book as pointed out below
This book is the same as "A Suggestive Inquiry Into The Hermetic Mystery." The difference is the very small typesetting in this book. The Classic Reprint by Forgotten Books has larger fonts.
