After buying another cheaper brand this item is well worth the extra money, the seals are a welcome addition and the solenoid is fantastic quality, feels sturdy and well built.

If your looking for a rock solid solenoid this is it. Quality is clear by holding it in hand. I plan on this lasting a long long time. Works very well.

Installed solenoid seemed to be good quality. Lasted about a week before it died….in traffic. Got truck home and found it had cracked along the top of the solenoid and shorted out. Got a replacement courtesy of Amazon and installed and sent old one back. Lasted about a month and died all out of the blue again yesterday. I’ve not gotten to remove it yet to see if there’s any obvious signs of failure as there was last time. Getting my money back and going elsewhere if I can find one that will actually last.

Picture attached is of one of the cheaper solenoids. They are rubber cases instead of hard resin like these Flag units made in Germany. The cheap ones will go bad and even possibly short out like mine did. Installed the Flag solenoid on my 82 6.2 Detroit and it works perfect plus the new gaskets are great

fit and function as original.
