The cargo in real box cars in not dented, damaged, spoiled, or destroyed.
Buyer’s grandson again. This boxcar is great because I needed a bunch of box cars on the layout to haul fast freights with the CN 4-8-2 mountain type. The boxcar is my favorite type of railway freight car, not because of the boxcar children, but because you can store things in it like boxes of clothes, toys, or a tv. If you carry things like canned soups, you have to make sure of the can isn’t dented which can be evidence of a broken seal from careless cargo handlers or rough riding. An ATSF archive said, “……Did you play baseball with it?” Amazing how archives can have a good sense of humor. The box car looked sharp with the 4-8-2 on the layout. Due to the engine being Canadian National, we called the locomotive, Pierre.

Good couplers and rolls very smoothly
Nothing is more frustrating than dealing with cars that uncouple while running the trains. Also, I don't like spending more money on changing out the couplers. I love the Walthers cars. They're a bit more pricey but its money well spent. The cars do not feel have that cheap feel and the couplers keep them connected well. I can put 30 cars together and there are zero issues with decoupling. On this particular car, the box car doors do not open but that was not a make or break issue for me.
