Norpro 10-Piece Wok Set, Silver, 14 inch

I bought this as a holiday gift. My very particular daughter says it is wonderful. She uses it multiple times per week as her family loves a variety of stir fry meals. This set allows for a fast, healthy meal prep and easy clean up. Going forward I will buy this wok set with confidence for a wedding gift - college graduation gift - housewarming gift. I may never have to give a set of towels or a boring gift card again! Love it!

I choose this for my 26 year old daughters birthday. She loves stir fry. I picked this due to I love the fact it was a 10 piece set and she didnt have to buy extra to be able to cook with it. She loves it. Its easy to use. Easy to clean. cooks for fast yet leaves it crisp. Sinse she likes hers so well Im going to buy one for myself. Its large enough to cook her family of 3 a good size meal and have leftovers.

Received it last night & after unpacking, washing, & seasoning it, my initial impression was that I will keep it & probably use it a lot, but the quality is somewhat lower than I expected. I had a very similar looking wok set 20 years ago that I loved (why do I get rid of things??). My dad still has the same one, & I compared his. His is heavier, has a long wooden handle on one side and a loop handle on the other, and the lid is much sturdier & perfectly round. I actually don't mind that this wok is lighter weight or that it has two loop handles. But the lid is seriously flimsy & arrived misshapen. When I tried to round it out, it bent much more easily than I expected & dented. Be very careful with the lid & handle it gently! I followed the directions for washing the wok, but I think I should have scrubbed more to get the anti-rust coating off, as there are some sticky, waxy areas down in the bowl after seasoning. I did see some reviews saying the booklet says it is Teflon coated & not to use metal utensils, but that is probably confusion because the manufacturer printed one booklet for multiple products. Page 1 has the directions for this carbon steel wok, but Page 2 has directions for a different "non-stick wok." The metal utensils are fine for this wok. Again, I will get good use out of it, but if you want high quality you might want to look elsewhere. Made my first stir fry second night. It developed mild rust - however, I read this is normal for carbon steel. It just means you need to try again at seasoning it properly. The manufacturer could do customers & themselves a better service by explaining & providing more effective seasoning instructions, but I found good resources online & gave it a proper, heavy duty seasoning. Now it is developing a lovely patina & shouldn't rust again. I'm petty happy with it & giving it another star!

I got this as a Christmas gift for my wife. She LOVES this thing!!! It really does a great job cooking. She took it and seasoned the wok and as it is carbon steel it turned some very cool colors when she was done. We even cooked ribeyes in it one night,, 6 minutes later we had great steaks cooked in doors,,, yes it smoked a bit but was worth it!! The utensils are not that high of a quality but do work very well. We use this 3 days a week and it is well worth the money!!!

This is a cute little set for a gift, but the one I bought for my mom rusted really quickly. Maybe we didn't dry it enough or keep it dry enough, but it's something to note. In addition, it was a little wobbly on the stove top, but again, it may have worked better in a different set up. I was more bummed by the rusting issue. It was nice while it lasted.

I have been using this wok for different things now and trying new recipes. So far, I really like this set and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! The only thing that I would change is to have a longer handle on one side for stir fries. The handles do get hot from the wok, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. However, this is a great set for the quality and is perfect for beginners. I have no regrets!

On appearance, looks okay. I was surprised of how flimsy the wok and lid actually were. The wok never heated up correctly. After one use and following the cleaning directions, the wok RUSTED. Seriously rusted, I was shocked. Even if I wanted to keep the Wok I never could have used it as it would have been a health hazard. Don't buy this product. BTW this was a gift for my husband, mortifying.
