first monitor in a while, great choice
So throughout highschool and college I've always used laptops. It was just easier to carry it around. Recently I built my own rig, and decided to pick up this monitor because of the price and the ratings. I don't have a ton of experience using lcd monitors but I can say this is a good one. There were no dead pixels upon arrival, and the colors are bright. I do use photoshop a lot to edit pictures and stuff and can see everything clearly. Mainly, I play games. Diablo III, Skyrim, Dishonored, Borderlands 2, Black Ops II all look beautiful on this monitor. Everything looks crisp. I don't have any issues with response or lag. 24" monitor is perfect for what I do everyday. As previous reviews have stated, the monitor can be shaky on the stand that is provided. However, if you have a solid desk that won't be constantly shaking upon every movement then this isn't a problem AT ALL. I have a sturdy desk and my monitor doesn't move unless I accidently hit it while reaching around it. This is seriously worth the buy, and comparing to the monitors that my friends use, I think it's worth every penny.5 stars

Fantastic monitor, warranty policies at ASUS need work
This monitor is great! Out of the box the settings are ok, but with a bit of tweaking in "Theatre Mode" this monitor really shines. The colors are vibrant and clear and the response time is fantastic playing PC games. It fit perfect on my desk but if you could adjust the height it would be a big plus. Not having a height adjustment isn't a big hit on this monitor though.I bought this to replace a 23 inch LG that I was moving to a 2nd computer and this price and features were just a notch above the LG it replaced. It's super thin and the edge bezel is thin enough that it's not noticeable or distracting. So why 4 stars instead of 5? The minor feature of this monitor is the cable plugs are on the back on the monitor but they are angled out. So plugging an HDMI cable into the back results in the cable hanging out of the back instead of plugging into the bottom. As long as there isn't any pressure on the cable this shouldn't be an issue but if there is any chance of the HDMI cable being bumped or knocked it could be an issue. A 90 degree adapter may not work either as the port is recessed in the back enough to keep the adapter from being useful. This one issue alone though is not the cause to lose a full star. The issue is the warranty choices and process with ASUS. the first monitor I received went dead with inverted colors 4 days after arrival.Since the warranty has 2 way free shipping I called ASUS and started the process. They determined the monitor was bad without much trouble and issued a replacement to be shipped. After going through the process 95%, the ASUS representative then tells me I will need to provide a credit card so they can hold $180.00. The hold will be released once the bad monitor is received by ASUS. I've already gone all the way through setting up the RMA so I choose to continue. The next part, after giving my card number, was finding out that I now have to pay to ship this monitor back to ASUS out of my pocket. No reimbursement, no options. I understand when sending back a hard drive there might be a shipping cost so I can get a replacement but with a monitor, where the shipping is easily going to be twice what I pay to ship a hard drive, this just wasn't easy to swallow. Now again, I took it on myself to continue but this process should be looked at very closely. I should not have to pay a dime for a replacement on an item like this, much less one that fails in 4 days. Weigh your option carefully on this if you get one and then need a replacement in the future. Take the cheaper course even if it means not having a monitor for a bit. While the replacement arrived in 2 days, I could have easily shipped the bad monitor back to Amazon, ordered a new one and been back in business the next day without any new charges. Thankfully it's all worked out in the end I just with it hadn't cost me money to replace a defective monitor that wasn't my fault.Short story, TL;DR -Pros - Colors are great, response time nice, thin, nice bezel.Cons - No adjustable height, input ports angle out the back and not out the bottom. Warranty process needs work to prevent costing the consumer more money and time.

These look amazing
For a while I used a 26" Samsung TV as my desktop monitor because it was given to me for free when a family member no longer needed it. That replaced my single 22" Acer monitor that I was using before that. So at that point, I had a 26" and a 22" monitor together and that looked like crap. It worked for what it was, but having two different monitors hooked up together does not please the eyes one bit.So after a couple years and once I had enough money, I got sick of that and bought two of these Asus monitors to replace both of my previous ones(and turn the Samsung TV into what it was made to be, a TV). These monitors look awesome. They definitely have way more color than my Samsung TV, as I noticed when I was playing Diablo 3. With the Samsung TV, everything looked kind of dull and flat. I didn't notice at the time since I didn't have anything to compare it to, but once I got these monitors it was like day and night. They just look so much better in every way. I was a bit worried if everything would feel cramped by switching from a 26" 1920x1200 monitor to a 24" 1920x1080p monitor, but it doesn't. It actually feels like everything fits on the screen better and just looks nicer in general.I've played a lot of games on them(Diablo 3, DOTA 2, Dishonored, Crysis 2, and more...) and there is no ghosting problems or anything like that. Everything is fluid and there isn't any lag time between my input and what happens in the game.I ordered two of these at the same time, and one came without any problems but the other had a stuck green pixel. I've tried every method I could find to remove it but it wouldn't go away. I asked amazon about it and they offered to ship me a new one and said I could ship the defective one back after I got the new one. The new one came in perfect condition, so I shipped the original defective one back and have been using these every day since without any problems. It's been about 4-6 months since I bought them and they still feel and look brand new.The only complaint I have about these is that they both don't seem to be the same height. They're the exact same monitor, but the one on the right looks like it's about 5mm lower than the left one. It isn't really a problem at all but it would just be nice to have them line up 100% perfectly. It may just be because they're tilted a different way, so I might be able to fix it, but it isn't annoying at all really so I haven't bothered with that.So if you're looking for a new monitor, get this one!
