RSVP Endurance Precision Pierced Stainless Steel 5-Quart Colander

This "Endurance Precision Pierced 18/8 Stainless Steel -- 5 qt." is a high quality colander from RSVP International, Inc. I simply love it, and I use it mainly to drain pasta, rice and steamed vegetables. I purchased this item after reading the reviews by America's Test Kitchen / Cook's Illustrated. Highly recommended.

After burning hands spending tens of quid on multiple colanders on market, I bought this bit pricey Colander and I am not disappointing this time! :) This product arrived from US. The item is of top quality and a stunning beautiful piece. I have been using this from last two weeks, mainly to drain cooked rice. Rice doesn't pass through the holes and starch water drains perfectly. I am also using this to clean other raw and cooked vegetables. Unlike other colanders on the market, the cooked rices doesn't stick to it. The cleaning is easy and doesn't need scrubbing. Its a wonderful piece and the raised base provides no contact with the base of sink so you can simply place it your sink and drain hot water. This is almost similar to the one you will find it Lakeland store but I preferred this as it is bit bigger and it doesn't have that blue grip on top of stainless steel handles and base. I felt that grips on the Lakeland colanders are not good enough and may spoil when you use it regularly to drain boiling water.

I’ve had the smaller one for a couple years, based on ATK review and it’s great. Glad to have both sizes, it’s a win. Love the footed base for keeping your food out of the water, the holes are a great size, sturdy and easy to clean, it’s top tier.

Bought this after watching an America's Test Kitchen review of colanders on Youtube. It was very thorough and I went with their pick although I was not familiar with the brand in Australia. So pleased that I did, it performs exactly as shown, sturdy but light and very stable.

At 5 quarts this is big enough to virtually do anything. Although pricey ($70) the quality is excellent. There are others that look and seem to be as good but I was looking for one with no rivets. Food can get caught in rivets and an opportunity for bacteria and surface rust to start. I like the depth, size, and bottom standing holder. It's very easy to clean and storing on the inside of my bottom cupboard door was simple using a picture hook. All in all, a little pricey but at this point, well worth the cost. If anything changes, I will edit this post.
