I love this book but the editors of REA should of made a small introduction on the rules such as grammer in the beginning of this book. Since I knew rules of grammer, I had no trouble. I recommend this book as an EXTRA learning book. But I am very content with this because it does give you examples such as this... What is ( CHAY YEST-ay?) Ce esteAlso in the intro, theres a small history lesson with I love! **I ORDERED THIS BOOK used FROM ANY_BOOK ON THE used SECTION. I GOT A BRAND NEW BOOK :-D I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!*

This little 90 page book is incredible. It may be small but it's stuffed with hundreds of usefull words and phrases for the traveler or simply for the curious mind. Not to mention is prefaced with a breif history of the country and some interesting stats on the current republic of Romanina. You will also find some lovely black&whites of certain land marks and notable locations; like Dracula's castle. This book is incredibly helpful with those interesting accent and stress-markers that are so different to the English language. (Now I know why they say English is the most difficult language to learn!) The easy to read, easy to follow phonetics make pronunciations virtually fool-proof, without having to buy tapes.If you are looking for a casual, easy to use, non-threatening, introduction into this beautiful and culturally diverse language, I highly recommend this book. It is the perfect stepping stone in your quest to being able to communicate in or at least understand the basics of Romanian!!

This guide is great to learn everyday useful phrases, some basic grammar and vocabulary. Really good vocabulary list to build off of, but if you want to learn more in-depth grammar rules and sentence structure, you'll have to look elsewhere. If you already have an idea of how the grammar works, then you catch on very quickly.

Some of the vocabulary is no longer used today. I confirmed with my Romanian friends example the book teaches you to say latrină for toilet BUT in Romania they say toaletă. Other than that, it's very useful.

This has been a valuable book to keep at hand for quick reference.One sees quickly where the accents come (or don't come) in the words. It helps the learner to adopt the Romanian sound and rhythm.

So this is DEFINITELY a small book. It's not really for those dedicated to learning Romanian full-time. I bought this book as a starter. It has just phrases, hence its price, and its a bit dated. It is more for people who are going there soon and want to pick up a few basic terms and phrases.However, it's a great additional resource to my other Romanian textbooks, but it will not work as a primary source of serious Romanian language learning.

Very good book from what I brushed through. I’m a Native Romanian, so I spoke this language when young. My sis and I are wanting to brush up on it, so I got this as a gift for her. From everything I see within the book, everything is well interpreted and has great example of interpretation. Not complicated at all. Book also looks as described and perfect condition.

Handy pocket size book, well structured contents, makes it easy to get started with the language. Useful explanations. Remember its a starter book. If you want to study for an exam then of course you need something more. Good value for money.

This is a brilliant book if you don't have much time (I only had a couple of weeks) to start getting familiar with the language.I would have chosen slightly different word lists, but the presentation and style of the book is undemanding and informative.There's also a useful essay on the history of Romania, which gives useful recent historical background to anyone visiting.

Was looking for a good book to try and learn a little Romanian - just enough to assist us when we travel later this year. This book is perfect...simple to use and small enough that I will be able to take it with me as a resource! Highly recommend it!
