It's a Piece of Work... that works!
Holy crap is this thing a piece of work to use.DO NOT BUY THIS -- unless you are willing to spend quite a few hours sifting through its documentation and learning its quibbles and foibles. However, it is significantly smaller than an Arduino Nano, and worked perfectly once I was able to figure out what makes it tick. Tested under high acceleration, and it worked just fine. This microcontroller was featured in the Guinness World Record-setting effervescent tablet rocket.

Great little micro controller thought it takes a little fiddling to setup for programming both in Arudino IDE software and in person. I didn't expect the need to press the small button on the back before programming and was scratching my head for a bit. This wouldn't have been an issue if I just RTFM, but I wanted to point it out never the less.

but its working & I'm happy. Now I can get on to the task ...
I finally have this up and working. It was a bit of a challenge, but working with members of the Adafruit community I've got it doing what I need. I did have to solder headers, reload the bootloader, buy an FTDI adapter, and gnash my teeth a bit, but its working & I'm happy. Now I can get on to the task at hand, solving a real world problem.

Great device. I bought the 3v3 version so needed to design a level converter to do what I needed. I should have bought the 5v and saved some time. Watch out for the Multiplexed pins (USB) It drove me crazy in debug until I realized I needed to unplug the USB cable before the device worked as it should.

Problem with order
As noted by the other poster, this may not be for those who can't troubleshoot. For me however my problem started even before that. They messed up my shipment. For me this in the past has meant phone calls, frustration, and anger. So why 5 stars? Because a quick feedback to them, and they fixed it all, no muss no fuss. Even expedited the shipping to me to resolve it. this is customer service done right. This sort of service can forgive a LOT. I may update this after I've played with this some, but If I dont add anything you can assume all went well.

I bought this by mistake. My bad, but it is hard to follow instructions out there to use it.

Save your money and stick with an Arduino
I very seldom write reviews, but I decided I should warn folks that this product is more of a Beta board than a plug-n-play product. You should not order this unless you like to troubleshoot software drivers, and deal with config file variances between IDE's. Sorry, but it's just not friendly out of the box, and it definitely shouldn't be assumed to be kid friendly like the Arduino stuff. I still don't have it working on my Windows 7 machine and my Windows 8.1 is even more restrictive. Sorry Adafruit... good idea, but for heavens sakes finish the product before you mass produce and release it. Don't believe me? Check out youtube and the Adafruit forums for yourself.
