Good cheap budget sub
I hope this helps people who don't quite understand the ins and outs of power and wiring your subwoofer. So I have to question those that make claims about them not being powerful enough or they blew up relatively quick. I think this comes down to not understanding, 1. Your amplifier and RMS ratings 2. How wiring the sub to your amp can cause impedance mismatches. One reviewer said his sub wasn't loud enough. This makes me believe it's wired in series, producing 8 ohms. Another reviewer says their amplifier is 2 Ohms. Well... If it is a mono block, 2 Ohms is good. If it is a 2 channel you bridged down to one channel, a 2 Ohms stable amplifier seeing a subwoofer wired down to 2 Ohms will either fry the sub, or fry the amplifier. I've seen this fry a voice coil in the sub and destroy filtering circuits in an amp. In this situation what happens is both channels split the load. Meaning you are showing each channel 1 ohm. In this case you would just use 1 voice coil @ 4 Ohms. Always check the resistance at the terminals to determine if you are wired correctly. On to the build. These are nice looking entry level subwoofers. Magnet looks good as well. The surround could have been a bit bigger. But hey, less than 60 dollars, can't complain. The bucket is plastic, though it feels rigid enough. Nice spring clip terminals. Nothing fancy. Just a decent design. Power handling. Guys, never go off of max rating. Period. Go off the RMS numbers. If those aren't listed, I use a formula for estimating an RMS value. Multiply price by 5.5. this would tell me the sub is at roughly 150 watts combined Sound is good and got better with about 45 minutes breaking in. It is not hitting super low frequencies. But thats ok, it's just a 10" sub. This is a great bang for the buck. Sensitivity is 90db at 1 watt/1 meter. This is at a specific frequency, I'm thinking somewhere around 50-55hz. So the lower tones, around 35hz have about a 4 db roll-off. In a good box, these should hit about 40hz fairly clean. They do start breaking up around 170hz. So those that want to match at higher frequency's may be deterred from using this sub.

Lot's of negative reviews on the seller's website.
I rarely review products that were not acquired through vine purchases. I'm choosing to review this one because after I purchased this speaker, I researched the seller and viewed many negative reviews on their website. Upon reading some of those reviews, naturally I expected the worst upcoming experience in product purchasing. I happy to report that those expectations were not met and everything went smoothly from purchase to usage. The sound quality of this speaker is excellent, and the bass is much deeper than the speaker (12" woofer) it has replaced. The quality of sound you get from this speaker is at a great price that's hard to be beat. The installation was very easy for me. Since I was replacing with the exact same size, removal of the old unit's mounting screws and connection wires was all that was needed. Replacement of the mounting screws was needed because the newer unit's mounting surface was 1/4 inch thicker but everything else fit right into place. Total removal and replacement time was less than 10 minutes. I give this speaker and seller 5+ stars. The speaker is great quality for a decent price. The seller gave an estimated delivery dates and it arrived in a timely manner. Both of those points exceeded my expectations and deserve a positive review from a customer that highlights their excellent work.

Good budget sub
This subwoofer driver I will say is decent for price point. Built the enclosure port tuned to 38hz. When putting it through it paces it would put decent bass into the cab for the trunk even at 32hz but I will say this things nowhere near a hard hitting unit. She puts bass out well but your not going to get a heavy punch like some other nicer 8 inch subs out there that have alot more movement. Have her maxed about around 200 watts before she starts to distort. Would say this a great budget option for an suv, truck, or hatch vehicle with direct exposure.

Very Good Sound And Will Handle Full Base Mode On My Vehicle
The rear woofer on my Chevy Tahoe was blown so, since I was replacing all the speakers in my doors (6), I went ahead and ordered this 8” woofer to replace it. It fit right into the round slot in the mounting box that held the old speaker. When I turned the treble all the way down with the corresponding adjustment to the base on my radio, the pulsating sound of pure base tones came through clearly with no broken, sputtering frizzy sounding pulsations present at all. I’m not a speaker expert, but I know enough to appreciate good smooth sounding music from speakers that are put to the ultimate test. I like the solid guarantee that comes with the speaker as well.

Decent bass for the money
Lasted 6 years so I would say it's a pretty good speaker. I thought it was blown but it's just a bad connection to the voice coil where the braided wire goes to the coil wire. Let's hope I get another six years now that I repaired it.

no better deal out there, edit 11/8/17 reason, speaker quit.
No better deal out there. Replaced an Orion in an Obcon band pass box. Is louder, but it does have noticeable clipping. Its on a old mtx 400.2 amp in my shop right now. When it has a few days of breaking in time on it its going in the house on a Rockford 1500.1 to be my TV subwoofer. Not sure if it will take much of the Rockford, we shall see. Yes these are 12 volt car components, I use a converter from a rv to power them, along with a sealed battery and small cap. Its nice having friends who own a scrapyard. Update...3/24/16 Still doing what it was made to do. The Rockford was to much, left the MTX on it. I have noticed a burnt smell coming from the ports during a long loud movie, but it is still fairly new. I think I have gotten my moneys worth from it, wasn't expecting it to perform as well as it does. Update 11/8/17 This speaker has puzzled me. I wound up using it in my truck for a few months. Then I removed it and it sat in the box for a few months. I recently went to add it to my shop sound system and neither coil work. It was working fine in the truck, and then nothing. Well you live and learn. A 27$ subwoofer isnt going to play long, and I was pleasently suprised at how well it did play. When i have time I'll remove the cone and coils and see what happened. Im thinking corrosion while sitting after being used.

Worth it.
This sub is worth it! Put in the right box with the right amp and connecting the 2 voice coils to make it 2 ohms this thing hits! Great sound and power! It’s light weight cause of the plastic housing but seems very sturdy. Overall very impressed.
