Great knife at a fantastic price
Comfortable, no nonsense knife that does everything you want it to easily..dry immediately after cleaning though or rust blooms appear on it high carbon content blade. Takes an holds a fine edge with a little patience. I have better . But I use this one the most because it's a pleasure to use in the kitchen.

Alright knife for ยฃ6.50 - Better recommendation inside review.
I guess it's okay for the ยฃ6.50 I paid, but it's no way near as good as the same company's "Sabatier Trompette" 15cm chef's knife which cost me about ยฃ7 (in a set of 3 knives which cost ยฃ21 total). Link; Richardson Sheffield 3-Piece Sabatier Trompette Knife Starter Set, Silver PROS: It's fairly comfortable to hold, but not quite as nice as the Sabatier Trompette series. Seems well made, sharp out of the box. Slices very well, and goes through food easily. Decent size, but just a bit too much on the bigger size for my preference. Can scoop food extremely well due to being wide. It has cutouts on the side of the blade to reduce sticking. So far I have had no sticking of food to it. CONS: The grind on it starts where the cutouts are on the blade, far too close to the edge (as you can see in the official photo above). This means the blade wants to tilt a bit when cutting (it wants to tilt away from you, so it exits the food before you reach the chopping board), which is not a big problem, I can just adjust the angle of the blade as I cut, but it's really not as nice as a really thin full flat ground blade (as you can see in my photo below), which just goes straight down much better. Conclusion: Good value for money, but there are better options. I've added a photo of all my knives from this brand (sorry I don't have a good photo of this specific knife). The front two are AMAZINGLY good at cutting due to their shape. I'll add a review of them here: Richardson Sheffield 3-Piece Sabatier Trompette Knife Starter Set, Silver

Perfect
This knife glides through my fruit & veg with such ease. Nice and sharp. Be careful if handwashing it, its so sharp I cut myself without realising until I started bleeding. Will buy more in different sizes.

hard to remove from glued packing ( by supplier not amazon).
a good knife but good luck getting it out of the crazy tight strong packaging. I am sure supplier could improve the way it packed to avoid danger to customers. I wa thinking of buying another knife from this maker but reading comments I see others share my concerns.

Wish i'd got one years ago
After struggling with those sets of 'chef' knives you can get for years, decided to try something that has been recommended to me numerous times by several keen home cooks i know as well as a chef. Have had my eye on a nice sontaku knife for a couple of years but it is expensive so wanted to get a more budget friendly option rather than spend all that money and realise it is not working as well as anticipated. My goodness, really should have taken their advice years ago. Chopping onions, peppers etc. is a breeze and even slices through tomatoes as if it was a hot knife cutting through butter. I would say it will be more than sufficient and will splash out on the posh knife when this one gives up the ghost but, initial impressions are it is going to last a long time as seems to be well built and Sheffield steel (is that still a thing, thought they shut down all the steel plants in sheffield ?), so can't see it needing replacing any time soon. Will come back and update this review should anything change.
